Its about time that i come up with a big play.

I lik Cotto big in this fight. I took him early at -160 but there a places you can get Cotto inside at plus 300. i took a piece of that too.

Mag is tough and throws a lot of punches but at a certain level being tough and throwing alot of punches doesnt cut it anymore.

The difference in speed will be huge. Cotto has fought some speed demons in Zab ,Mosley and Corley. Gomez vs Cotto looked like joes vs pros. And Gomez is a tough guy too.

Magarito is also not a one punch artist so he has to catch Cotto with combos and to do this he has to break him down and i dont see this happening.

Cotto is an improving fighter still his defence is getting better, he can adapt during a fight plus he knows what to do when hurt. He is fighting tough opponents for a long time. Look at Quintana and Torres who won world titles after Cotto beat them. Thats always a good sign when judging a record.

If Cotto wins i am fine if he wins inside i hit the jackpot.

I also recommend Thompson inside against Klitat 700 or better. A little bit on Klit via dec at 360 maybe too. He served us well against Krasniqi but this is a different level. The man will play Thompson also 100%. But he may be on the Mag.

Good luck

good man....that`s a tough fight to be real definitive on ,so i`m glad you have a solid opinion.....

cotto just gets better and better...he beats margarito convincingly, and i think he`s knocking at the door of top pfp status....

that speed he`s been displaying recently does look like just the ticket to offset margarito`s consistent aggressiveness.....

glad you`re back in the saddle..

I am going completely against the grain on this one. I am betting Margarito LARGE. Cotto has the skills to box a beautiful fight but I think this fight will be about Machismo, two proud warrior nations seeing who can break the others will.
I think Margarito will break Cotto in the machismo department and when Cotto realises he has made a mistake, it will be too late.

Good luck all.

I'll say one thing paulie, you got onions the size of canteloupes! My only problem is after watching what Clottey was doing to Tony when they fought, I just see Cotto doing WORSE to him. But hey, one never knows. Personally I bet Cotto SU as he has gotten better and better as he moves through the moves. I also played Thompson INSIDE small as I posted in my thread; that anyone can enter and post whatever they want, even weasel!

that`s a nice observation,there bunky........

but,i can see wee`s point, too...i was looking at cotto`s record vs tall opponents...the only one of note was kelson pinto, and he basically went the way of the buggy whip after cotto exposed him...

i totally expect cotto to fight a careful, measured fight vs margarito...using his speed and boxing ability......cause i`ll tell you the truth...i`m not sure cotto could out-gut,out-tough,outlast margarito in a shootout....

margarito can be outpointed...it`s happened 5 or 6 times....but,i don`t think anybody`s even come close to stopping him...

if you`re cotto...and you`re obviously quicker of hand and foot, why roll the dice?....

I'm leaning towards weepauls version of the fight. Cotto cannot get caught in a shootout. If he does then he loses. I think Cotto can use his speed and skill for the early rds to gain a lead but Margo is relentless and I think his size and volume of punches will begin to wear on Cotto over the 2nd half of the fight. I like the value on Margo on what I feel is essentially a pic-em. Cotto will need to be perfect over 12 rds and I just think the warrior in him will get the better of him...Margo in 10 brutal rds.

I know Margarito looked like shit against Clottey but I put that down to Clottey being considered a no-name bum that had a loss to Baldomir :nono: .

Who knew Clottey would win the Azumah Nelson "where the Fuk did he come from" award. :scared :mj07: :mj07:

Margo will be as ready as he can be for this fight. No let downs here. :00hour

Good luck all.
