Once again, another bad call in boxing tonight. In a fight that I thought could have legitimately been stopped in the 3rd and a tko victory could have easily been awarded for Thompson somehow got turned around and became a win for arvin. Props to Arvin for literally fighting back from being out on his feet but the ref and commission BLEW this call. The replay clearly showed the cut on Thompson was caused by a clash of heads but they ruled in favor of Arvin nonetheless. Soto was hosed several weeks back from a horrendous ref decision and Clottey nearly had victory swept out of his hands last week from poor reffing. Tonight Thompson clearly got hosed from very poor decision making. Why the **** isn't instant replay considered? I really think serious consideration should be given to it. Just had to vent.

I didn't post my play this week but I had 1k on thompson to win 2 hund.

note: didn't see this in the other thread but looks like some of us are on the same page.

Seriously, I think these people are targeting pro bettors.

Worth noticing as well that title fights are usually spared; the higher the profile of the fight, the less likely a screwup like this happens.

Coincidence ? I think not.

That type of result is why it just doesn't make sense to lay that kind of wood, even in a contest that seems like a "sure thing." There is enough decent action every week not to grab everything that comes down the pike. Good value picks happen quite frequently - but one must be patient and disciplined.

That all said, those buffoons in DC ****ed things up badly last night. What is WRONG with those nitwits. The commissioner could not be reasoned with. He had it in his mind to give Ishmail a TKO win NO MATTER WHAT the rules or evidence showed.

couldn`t agree more.....my feeling is that with parlay options open to the players via 5 dimes and other books, laying big odds is way to dangerous a strategy...a losing strategy in the long run...particularly in these peripheral bouts..

that`s just my opinion..

box knows my feelings on this...we`ve discussed it several times on here..

that said,romi,you got scuppered here....

the hometown commission was going to give it to the hometown boy regardless of the evidence...

the real tragedy is that somewhere down the line, after some pressure is applied, theres a good chance this decision will be overturned.....

of course,it will be to late for the bettor...

as i said in the other thread..sincere condolences....you deserved better.......

And there is your answer Romi. And it is in all sports. If you want to see a sport reffed fairly catch a high School game where there are no gambling lines on the event. and this shit has finally creeped into the MMA with point deductions and stopping fights and giving the fight to a guy nobody bet. See Kevin Johnsons last fight. Not a sole was on the other guy but somehow his opponent viciously pokes him in the eye and gets the decision:shrug: Just my opinion of course and it looks like Crows too.

I had no money on this fight but was Major league pissed off watching.

The thing I am most pissed off about is, these FUKS WILL overturn this shit call once they review the evidence.

I wonder what evidence they will use to overturn the decision?
Hmm, I wonder if they will review the same fuking tape they reviewed last night!!!!

Fuking SCUMBAGS!!! Sorry for your loss to both Romi and ghostdog. UTTER HORSESHIT!!!

It's pointless now but I actually thought I had decnt value @-450 and -580. I bet it twice and I watched the 1st 4 rds thinking it was in the bag. I actually thought arvin went down 3 times in the 3rd. Had the ref taken a closer look at what his legs were doing, he should have stopped it. Arvin actually wobbled to his corner after the 3rd. Most refs would have stopped it then and there. I also believe I heard the announcers state that the ref indicated it was a headclash right after the butt...did anybody else catch that? All water under the bridge at this point but this bullsht really leaves a bitter taste. I can almost guarantee graham will have much to say about it today.

Another unposted pick but I grabbed back 2 hund on Barker to net an 800 loss on the week.
