You guys ever been involved in something llike a twister?

My little town was ripped apart Sunday afternoon. My wife, son and dog are all okay and our house was relatively unscathed, but our downtown core is still on lockdown with SWAT teams, and the story is most buildings in that area will be condemened because they will be deemed structurallly unsound.

The place I work at is practically destroyed, and we are all busting our asses to make it operational again ASAP to some extent.

This is shit I watch on TV. Not something I thought I would ever live. Reported to be the worst tornado in Ontario in 15 years, and one guy from Environment Canada said the worst he has ever seen in his 36 years on the job..

I am hearing the same "rah-rah, we will be better than ever" bullshit.

Hey, nothing wrong with being an optimist, but let's also be a realist....we're fucked in this town.

Hey IE, it's a good thing nobody around here knows what in hell you're talking about or you might be dating yourself. :look:

From what I have heard, the Benmiller Inn has suffered a few busted windows but no real substanital damage. The twister found the river after it ripped through Goderich, so the Inn would have been in it's last wake. People in Clinton didn't have their lawn furniture turned over!

Thanks for the well wishes IE, Jack and Kick. We really could use all the good vibes floating around right now.

not belittling your disaster at all and I am shocked you had that bad of one in Canada :scared

but growing up in Alabama and seeing what just happened this spring in AL and Joplin ... that appears to be a F3 you had there?

go check out the two I mentioned above that were F4 and F5 to see what they can do ... it is mind boggling:scared

sorry to hear about this for your town ... it is totally devastating when one of these hit the centers of towns .... good luck with your recovery :0074

We stood on the roof at work today....hoping to save jobs for a lot of people.....and all we could see was destruction.....and that's what we said to each other..."Imagine that one in Joplin".....we couldn't imagine the strength of that thing.

We suffered an F3 and that was pure devestation.

That's enough for me.

the ones in AL this spring were the worst in history ... over 300 loss of lives and that is with todays tornado sirens, the technology of meteorology and even more the technology of cell phones and people that can send immediate visual coverage and text messages:scared

you always here those idiots that say "I would like to see one" ... NO YOU DON'T!!!

best of luck in recovery bud and sorry for your loss!

All the best to you sharky. Sorry to hear about this. Tornado power is amazing......in 60 seconds they can cause millions and millions in damage...but worse, kill people. You'll be in my thoughts.

F3 will definitly tear your world up. Have seen a number of them growing up in Oklahoma. My Dad and Brother had a F4 come through less than a 1/2 mile from thier construction business Nw of Okc last spring and killed a family in thier brick home just a mile north. Saw the destruction in a July visit. Sorry to hear your your town got hit. They destroy lives in seconds.
