That stuff reminds me of Falstaff which was brewed in Omaha and plant closed down in the 80's, LOL. Good going down but the after effects made ya keep the car window down with guests in the car the next day!! LOL

Hell Bill I grew up on Falstaff. Had a brewery in Ft Wayne. We used to call it a staff infection when we tied a good one on.

My late father drank all of those kind of brands back then and was in Nam, too, Hawkeye, his last station over there was in Bien Hoa? '67-'69.

Whatever was on sale he drank! LOL.

And yeah, we are all showing our age, but hell, you only live once!!

Paddy fields--nearest place was Da Nang. We used to get Millers's, of course it sat on the dock in the sun for almost a month and was skunked by the time we got it, but it was free beer--hate Millers to this day.

I was over in Danang a couple of years ago. All major cities in Vietnam have good beer going as the brewers of Carlsberg (Danes) have been assisting the Vietnamese with the process. Everything was $1.00. The only a western brewer I saw was Heineken. Coming from NY, a buck for that would be a bargain.

I was stationed around Danang in 68' while serving in the Marines and it was a shit hole. Stayed at a 5* hotel on my last trip.

We used to get pallets of Olympia (Washington State beer) choppered out in the field and they wonder why the troops were smoking starlight cluster bongs. 100 plus degrees and all I heard was the beer guy at Yankee Stadium yelling "ice cold beer here." Thanks for your service and all the other Vets.

Don't post much but I'm on the Gael's tonight.
