I was ecstatic that it was at six with Penn State with no time outs and driving.

My brother in law had Florida -7 for the game for $25.

I begin to celebrate assured he'll step out or slide...

And he keeps running...

My brother in law stands and begins to cheer....

A perfect middle busted and he's cheering about a $25 cover...

God love him but I would given a hundred if he hadn't done that.

I yell fuc!!!!!! The wife hears me....

Now she's saying that I shouldn't be gambling and all I see is red.

Needless to say, huge swing and I'm in the doghouse.

I was having a good NFL run a few years ago and my buddy asks me would I let him know what I was backing for the weekend.

I let him know and all my picks promptly shit the bed.

He calls me the next morning to complain that he lost $50 and I didn't know shit.

After informing him that I wasn't actually Nostradamus and my losses were over a grand, with many expletives thrown in, he promptly apologised and hasn't asked again since.

I'm trying to draw some moral to these stories but in the end those losses just fucking hurt. That's about it.

reminds me of the old days at the house before DIRECTV or supercable..

I had the BIG DISH in the back yard..Huge mama..that in those days could pickup just about anything that was being aired across the globe..

Guys would pile in the house NFL..COLLEGE..FOOTS BUCKETS..even MLB..

well we all used 2 locals then..

of course there were rec plavers of 10-50 bucks and of course always a couple heavy hitters exposing up to 1,000.00 ..back in the late 70's to early 80's which was a pretty strong bankroll for those days..

well just as you spoke of today one of the heavy hitters got the sour end of a closer and a rec player hit a small parlay and went crazy happy and the two clashed right there in the livingroom..Hard words between to fellow Supervisiors who under normal circumstances would go to war for the other guy started and threats of ass whippin's followed.Hated to see good friends get that pissed at each other.
My heavy hitter friend stormed out of the house and my rec player friend felt really bad but happy as hell he it the parlay as well.

Well nearly 15 years of us Supervisors hanging out together I had to come up w/something

Finally had to set a house rule..Rec player be respectful of higher priced players .

Higher priced players can't get a case of the ass just because your wager is larger than somebody elses..

It's all relative ..

The two buddies got over it and to this day are still best friends.

and to this day the rec player is respectful of his buddies higher wagers..

Hahahaha, same thing here. I had PSU +7 looking sweet just rooting for the clock to roll then bam! Interception, I yell "shit" then it's taken to the house and I yell "fuck" sitting next to my wife with in-laws next to her. They all thought I was rooting for PSU when all I wanted was a cover.
