It's going to look like I jobbed your picks, Scrub, but I didn't. I put these in yesterday. We're on the same track though.

Woodland to win 16-1 SIA Big blamming hitter on a big wide open course.

Woodland over Bradley -110
Sabbatini over Byrd -110 If you're going to bet on Rory, you have to do it the first couple of months in the year. He insists on making his money early so he can screw around with his speed boats in the summer. Byrd, defending champ, should come in second here, though.

72 holes

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
Outrights:

K.J. Choi(16/1) e.w.
- - This time in 2011, Choi was completely off my radar, except as a "go against." This time in 2012, Choi is smack dab on my radar, on a Pacific venue that requires far more short game than length to separate from the field.

Nick Watney(10/1) e.w.
- - Johnny Miller is much higher on Watney than I am (I'll take Dustin Johnson, Jason Day and Webb Simpson, and of course, McIlroy), but a fresh start to the season amidst the relatively calm Pacific surely matches my vision for unveiling any flashes of his latent greatness.

Harrison Frazar(70/1) e.w.
- - Frazar was the name I kept gravitating to among the longshots, but I decided to take a pass, until I came across this article to strike a chord I couldn't ignore. http://www.mauinews.com/page/content.detail/id/556810/Frazar-endured-long-wait-for-first-victory.html?nav=11

Kevin Na 38/1 (5dimes): After getting his first win in so long last fall I think he'll win a bunch more. He always is in contention but faded away on the last 9 until vegas where he finally held on. Like these odds with this filed.

Brendan Steele 50 (5dimes): Talented rookie winner a season ago, and played well in the fedex playoffs. side not- he and keegan bradley won the shark shootout last month so he's playing well. maybe?

Good luck everyone :toast:

Round 1 play (2pts):

Nick Watney to beat Webb Simpson -105 @ Pinnacle [available generally]
Course form is very important at the Plantation Course and that is enough to look to oppose Simpson early in this event and particularly with Watney who, in his previous starts on this course (2008 & 2010), finished 1st and 2nd respectively after the opening round. There is clearly no doubt that he is always well-prepared for Hawaii, both on the course and on the surf. It should be the same this week, particularly as the two-time winner last year arrives here under the radar, presumably due to his disappointing performances in the Majors. No such time away from the limelight for Simpson, who won only as many times as Watney last season, but who had a breakout season and kept playing until the very end of the year in the off-season events. A let-down from last year's drama and an unfamiliar course makes Simpson a player to oppose on day one.

[unofficial rd1 system plays: Baddeley tb Woodland +100; Toms tb Woodland -105; Toms tb Bradley K +120; Haas tb Simpson +100; Haas tb Bradley K -111]

Just Read this on Roto

Glover (knee) withdraws from the Hyundai TOC Lucas Glover has withdrawn from this week's Hyundai Tournament of Champions due to the injury he sustained in his right knee.
As relayed to you yesterday, Glover suffered a sprained ligament in his right knee while paddle boarding last weekend. With the challenging terrain of the Plantation Course, it is no surprise that he's opted out. He was scheduled to tee off at 11:35 a.m. local time.

Second round:

Scott Piercy(-110) over Johnson Wagner-- Bovada

Take it to the bank

Scott Piercy arrived on Christmas ? he has a vacation place in nearby Kaanapali ? and played the Plantation Course plenty of times to get ready for the new season.

"I saved all my worst shots for today," he said after rallying for a 70.

Didn't get a good read at all on how they would perform yesterday, so sitting this round out. It's a long season, so won't chase on day 2 ;)

Same here. I've looked over the lines and stats multiple times and nothing stuck out to me...so I'm going to play along with Miggs. I think if Piercy will be more agressive and get his approach shots closer his putting will win this one over Wagner

Piercy round 1:
Average Distance to Pin 55' 11"

Round 3: Laird -125 over Na 1 unit

Fading Na after an amazing finish. I expect him to revert back closer to opening round form (maybe a -2 or -3). Na hit 100% GIR and only had 1.5 puts per hole. His approach shots were about 22 feet from the hole on average. Basically, all the stars aligned for Na in round 2 and I don't see things going as smoothly for him in round 3. :0074
