I'm not sure anyone likes to follow the trade rumors but I've always liked this time of the year.

Amare to Cavs- I think this is a good deal if they can't get anything else done but I think Troy Murphy is a much better fit. Amare isn't a great rebounder, plays little defense and gets a good % of his points off of easy shots from Nash passes. Murphy averages more rebounds with less minutes, and although he averages about 7 points less I think you can attribute a lot of those to the differences in style of ball the two teams play. I also like the fact that Murphy can stretch the defense to the 3 point area.

Maybe I'm wrong but Amare IMO is a very selfish player who thinks he's better than he really is.

I'm not big on Jamison either. He doesn't have the size to play D vs the good PFs(Garnett, Gasol if they make it to the finals and even Howard when Orlando goes big)

Jamison would not be a benefit to Clev as he is another finesse player.Doesn't bang down low and that is what they need.I will be surprised if Clev does anything, tough to give up on potential with JJ and they should be getting Powe active soon.I think they will just work Powe into rotation instead of working new chemistry onto team.I was in favor of bringing in Amare but I don't think they will do it.

I don't think Clev needs another body to stand around the 3 pt line, they need a banger inside and I don't think Murphy has shown the ability to stay healthy.Believe Powe should be exactly what they need,Murphy is like Z,a tall white boy that doesn't like the physicality, preferring to shoot the face up despite being 7 ft tall,I know Murphy isn't 7 ft but he really isn't a low post banger.I really think I rather go with what we have when Powe comes back,I don't see them adding a different personality.

If they need a banger down on the inside then Amare is definitely not the guy. He only gets 8 rebounds per game and that's playing for a team that averages and teams against them average more possessions. He should have an inflated rebound number because of that. Troy averages 9 boards with less minutes and far fewer shots going up.

If you have Amare and Shaq you basically have clogged the lane for Amare. If you have Shaq and Murphy then you have someone that can step away, clear the lane and give Lebron someone to pass to. AND you get a better rebounder. I'm not sure about defense but you can't get much worse than Amare, he plays no team defense at all.
