sometimes you just gotta give credit to the opposition and be willing to lose the bet.

st.marys needed 16 3s to win the game. gonzaga didnt play poorly. marys just rose to the occasion.

arizona didnt play all that poorly either. stanford just did the little things right and had a good effort after mailing it in on thursday.

I agree that it's going to happen. But as long as we have been gambling, to follow such obvious "traps" like Wisconsin -4 to a horrible Indiana team. Us that bet on it know better than that.

This I disagree. Part of playing a sport is actually trying to play some defense and keep the other team from scoring so for the #13 team in the nation to come out and allow a 6-7 team to run up 87 pts on you is pathetic.

I not complaining about not covering the spread, but to lose outright to such inferior opposition is disgraceful.

Buddy, my personal definition is when a much superior team is a small favorite or dog to an inferior team:

Hofstra (10-1) Drexel (4-6)
Hofsta -6 loses outright

Wisconsin (10-2) Indiana (5-7)
Wisconsin -4 loses outright

Now I know you can't go by records alone when placing a wager but after all the research and seeing that the better team has also beaten better opponents and/or recent history between the teams then when that team is beaten, that's a trap

Let me add Gonzaga. Nickelback said it best "70% public play and still a pickem" Trap!!!

This is the start of conf play week 1, so just like a new ncaa year forget the non conf games. The first few conf games things will happen , in a few weeks the top of the pack will rise and hold on to there leads, nothing more nothing less you either win or lose, things happen in hoops more then in fb, just the name of the game, there are no locks and there are no traps sorry. The same as there are no bad beats, for each bad beat people say they took , take a look at the times they covered by luck, those are forgot very quick.

Also each game is a new game past history means squat in handicapping or in playing the game from a coaching stand point. Everyday is a new day.

Good luck the rest of the way

Many " traps" can be avoided by refusing to lay poiints on the road. In NCAA hoops it is poison. A small sip here and there may be ok at times, but a steady diet of it will kill. I probably play no more than 5-10 road chaks over an entire season.
