Davis -135 over Kelly

"It has hit my wife and I extremely hard," Kelly said. "I've had a hard time wrapping my brain around anything the last 24 hours. I feel like I should be there for Chris. I've talked with the family and they've assured me that they're taken care of. That's all I care about. That Chris, the kids are taken care of. Anything I can do to help is the only thing I can say.
"I'm going to play, yes, unless I get a call that says, 'I need a friend.' And I'll be there. At the moment, they want it to be family. I completely respect that. But my phone will not be more than a foot away from me at all times."

After being underwhelmed by last week's major, this here Hartford Open, Traveler's deal, might be more betable. I thought Bethpage last week, was supposed to be the hardest course of all time. What a joke that was. You can make an easy course hard, which is what they tried to do at the black course, but you can't make a hard course easy. So they can just can all the hype right now for next year's tricked up joke.

This Traveler's Deal, better known as The Greater Hartford Open, is a back to normal event. Hoping the weather is back to normal too.

Bubba Watson to win 41.00 sia

This is a stab in a lot of respects. I saw that Bub did fairly well here last year, and is more than a live body lately.

72 hole m/u
Watson over Na -110

Both of these guys run a little hot or cold. Watson, I believe is a little on the warm side and Na is a little on the cool side.

Round 1 plays (1pt):

Steve Marino to beat Boo Weekley -160 @ FiveDimes
Weekley's injured shoulder has resulted in him failing to make the cut in any of his last three starts, but even before that Marino had been the dominant player in this matchup, finishing behind Weekley only twice in their previous ten common events and shooting the lower 1st round score in seven of those ten events. Add in their course form - 13th and 62nd for Marino versus mc (by 10 shots) for Weekley - and there is still value at these odds.

Kenny Perry to beat Aaron Baddeley -162 @ Pinnacle
Missed cuts in his last two events since withdrawing from the Texas Open because of a wrist injury and missed cuts in his last two visits to River Highlands point to another poor week for Baddeley. He cannot compete with Perry in terms of form and the short odds are certainly jusified given Perry's record on this course: he has six top-15 finishes in his last seven visits.

Stewart Cink to beat Dustin Johnson -120 @ Pinnacle [also available @ William Hill and WSEX]
Johnson has been in reasonable form recently and did finish 34th on his course debut last year, but he is still a long way short of matching Cink on the course. They have played 20 common events on the PGA Tour, Cink leads Johnson 16-3-1 h2h.

Stewart Cink to beat Brian Gay -125 @ Paddy Power
Gay has even better form than Johnson, but his finishing positions on this course have been very poor: mc, 36th, 52nd, mc, 63rd, mc, mc. These seem fair odds given Cink's performances on this course.

Scott Verplank to beat Jerry Kelly -120 @ Pinnacle [also available @ WSEX]
It was reported on the PGA Tour twitter site that Kelly was going to withdraw from this event to be with Chris Smith [his wife was killed and two of his children critically injured in a car accident on Sunday], but he couldn't get a flight. In normal circumstances, I would have Verplank as a clear favourite for this matchup; this adds to the expectancy that Kelly will not be staying in Connecticut very long.
