There is a Seniors event being priced up by Bet365 and William Hill - being played at Wentworth it sees the dedut of Darcy on the Seniors tour and the quote of 2/1 must be a joke, personally had a small bet on defending champion David Oakley (also 3rd in 2000) he seems to come to life in August and have taken the 40/1 at Bet365.

Outright plays (1 unit):

Eamonn Darcy to win 4/1 @ William Hill
My line is 5/2, so will take 4/1 on the newest member of the European Senior Tour. There has been a lot of anticipation for Darcy's arrival and he joins the Tour in fine form. He finished 6th in the Irish Open and 30th in the European Open and that is completely out of the question for the rest of this field. Looks likely to dominate this Tour for the rest of the season and will take these odds against this field and against Ebihara who has a very poor record on this course.

Christy O'Connor, Jr. to win 16/1 e.w. @ Bet365
Hasn't rediscovered the level of competitiveness on the Senior PGA Tour that he had before he broke his leg last year. He was out for 11 months as a result. But his performances on the European Senior Tour this year are in marked contrast to those Stateside. Three starts and three top-3 finishes. Will gladly take another this week.

Steve Stull to win 20/1 e.w. @ Bet365
Disappointed as a selection in the British Senior Open, but has finished 2nd and 7th in the two events since. Has won once this year and has become a very consistent player. William Hill have priced him joint 3rd favorite and that seems appropriate.

I use my ratings to calculate lines and look closer at players for whom I can get better odds. Not a case of backing easy favorites - we can read the Racing Post for that - but looking for value. I think he has a better than 20% chance of winning this event.

I don't take player quotes too seriously - they tend to be rather biased and self-serving. Darcy would want to quell the anticipation of his debut just in case he were to play poorly ... as Tom Watson did in the Senior British Open.

Anyway, I don't mind if he doesn't win as long as O'Conner, Jr. or Stull do the honours instead ;)

Well Stan Darcy has certainly played better than my pick Oakley!
Just added Bruner as a bet at 20/1 Stan James close to the pace at 4 under and he finally laid his bridesmaid host to bed at last years Tour Championship.

Final update: 0-3; -3.00 units

Darcy 47th
O'Connor, Jr. 9th
Stull 16th

Two blanks on this Tour this season. Darcy started well, but got worse every round, while at least O'Connor, Jr. had a good chance of securing a payout. Three bogeys in the last six holes ended that hope and he finished two shots outside the top-5. Still think could be a very profitable Tour to wager upon, but there are unlikely to be any further opportunities this year.
