as is the case most of the time w/ trends --its like deciding what shoe to put onto your foot first----

since 1998 away dogs before a home game are:

11 unders 0 overs

since 1999 home favs before an away game are:

6 overs 0 unders

I will give you more trends this, trends that:play Denver over as a favorite in Sep't,18-4(82%)since 1993.Here's another:Since 1980,Denver has played 92 games at home vs.non-division teams. In these 92 games,Denver& oponents have gone over the total 65 times(70%).Add this to the secondary problems each team has,Giants playing rookies & Denver always gets beaten deep,I will play 1*on the over 44 in tonites game.Good Luck.

question IE, why would you be so dismissive of trend that dictates when the Giants lose they get beat by more than 7pts at such a high rate. Putting the spread aside the first thing one must do is decide who will win a game, than determine by how much, check the given line a look for value. Trends only support or takr away from a play they should never dictate one. All info is good and your post was seems to be very off the cuff.....

not off cuff at all.....was just stating if one looks hard enough they can find opposite trends on alot of games...whole different meaning of what your saying....

i agree with,

the fact that you point out is that if you can find some understanding and reasoning behind the trend to back up other subjective and objective handicapping then by all means its a tool to use....was not arguing that all.

good luck tonight.

Big Monkey,

I'm pretty sure that IE was just saying that you can find a trend to support ones position in almost every situation. Kinda like the tail wagging the dog. Have a hunch and support it with a meaningless 'trend'. Kinda like the one that you referenced.
