just thought i would go ahead and pay my respects to George Harrison, who passed away on thursday. as an avid Beatle fan, it is unfortunate to see someone pass away still early in his life. he helped revolutionize music and will never be forgotten...

I can't really explain how sad this makes me feel. I remember when I saw the Beatles live on the Ed Sullivan show, I think it was their first US appearance. Now, two of them are gone.

Skinar, we must be about the same age, 48,
there will be no other group come close to
the impact this group had, While My Guitar
Gently Weeps probably one of the greatest
songs ever written...being a part of Beatle-
mania was magicical...just goes to show how
old we are getting to be...I can imagine the
standing ovation going on in the heavens
right now...John leading it with "Imagine"...

What's truly remarkable about this man and his music is that although he was an intergral part of rock 'n roll's greatest band and enjoyed a brilliant solo career in the early 70s (the three-album boxed set of "All Things Must Pass" is one of the great recordings of all-time), he was the anti-thesis of the moedern day rock star. He was a totally selfless man, who adhered strictly to his principles (i.e. he never sold out to the establish or did those ridiculous nostalgia shows), shunned fame and publicity, and sought to enlighten others with his music. There will most certainly be no one like him again.

I liked his album, "Cloud Nine" and his collaborations with The Travelling Willbury's. Pretty cool musician.

While I'm not old enough to have experienced Beatle mania, I still enjoy their music immensely and it is sad to see Mr. Harrison pass away. I felt I would be remiss not to pay my respects here. Like so many others have said, there will likely never be another like him.

(and like Gator said, this next one is for you George Harrison)
