I'm really looking forward to this fight. I am surprised that the line is -170 for Trinidad. Yes he's fought the tougher competition, but Vargas has destroyed virtually everyone he's fought. Trinidad has a history of getting knocked down early. It could be aproblem for him in this fight. However, if he weather's the early storm, he usually gets stronger. If the fight goes into the late rounds it will favir Tito. I'm still on the fence right now...

ANY thoughts on this...

I was looking at the odds posted at TOP of the WORLD, and VARGAS is +350 to win by K.O. and TITO is +140 to win by Decision. My take is that if VARGAS is to win, he must KNOCKOUT Trinidad, and if not, Tito wins on the cards. With DON KING handling Trinidad, I don't trust it to come out in favor of VARGAS if it goes the distance. TOO many instances where KING's fighter has prevailed, or gotten a draw. SOOooooo....

I was wondering, does this sound like a good way to go. 200 on TITO to win be dec, and 300 on VARGAS (whom I favor btw) to win by KO

If Vargas wins by KO, I profit 850, and if TITO wins by decision, I lose 20. I realize that if TITO knocks him out, or VARGAS somehow manages to sway the judges, I lose, but I was also thinking I could lay a little on the GOES 12 to protect against it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated...

I think that Vargas wins this fight. Trinidad is over-rated and is not going to be able to withstand the punching power of Vargas. I think the longer the fight goes the more it favors Vargas because those punches will wear Tito down in the later rounds. I have watched vargas fight live and think he is the real deal.

First of all I would like to point out that I am not a good boxing handicapper. I had delachicken over tito last time.

I did pick Hoyfield over Tyson in both fights. I did that because I met Holyfield two days before the first fight (when he had two normal ears) in the elevator at Caesars Palace. I asked him how he was, and he told me that something about divine intervention, winked, and got off the elevator.

I said at 11-1 at that time, what the hell so I threw down a c note on him. I didn't even know the results of the fight until the next day because my mom had come from LA to visit us.

Needless to say that was a gift.

Anyway, back to this fight, I must say that I really like Vargas chances to knock out Tito. If Vargas wins, it will be by way of KO. And if Tito wins, I don't know if which way it will come by.

I will put a small wager on Vargas to win by KO at +300 or greater.

Vargas has always wanted to fight Delahoya, but delahoya wouldnt give him the time of day. Vargas will not run from Tito. Tito better be ready for this one cuz, Vargas will come with everything including the bathroom sink.

Again, small play on Vargas + 300 or better to KO Tito.

if you look how i played the fight i think it is a safe way,i took trinidad to win,but doubled up on the fight not going 12,i think vargas has a real shot at this, you say well why did you bet trinidad, well if vargas wins it will be a knock out,and within the first 6rounds,this guy can hammer and he is mad,but i dont trust the scoring out here so that is why i have trinidad also,if it goes into the late rounds he can get the ko and i dont see him losing if it goes the full 12,i dont think it will go the full 12 so this is almost like protection from dropping alot, really hoping for a ko from either. good luck,i like vargas but feel this is the safe way to play, cannot trust the scoring. good luck.

" Ultimately, the reason this is a special fight is Fernando Vargas. Not since a lightweight Roberto Duran, and arguably a teenage Tony Ayala Jr., has there been a young warrior who is as pure a fighter. Vargas' rage is matched only by his poise. He oozes intensity, and if Trinidad is as great a fighter as we believe him to be, the Puerto Rican will match Vargas' machismo. If he doesn't, he'll be swallowed whole. "

this will be the fight of the year...no question...I like Vargas to come out and show his power...Trinidad may be caught off guard...he's been on the canvas a few times in the past...granted he's always gotten back up and won the fight...but I don't think Vargas will let him up once he has him hurt...they don't call him ferocious for nothing...and I think he will get to Tito in a big way...

here's what I'm playing:

Vargas (+180) 3x
Will not go 12 (-125) 10x

Looking forward to a great fight. Here is how I played it:

Felix by decision +140 = 1k to win 1400
Under 12 rounds -120 = 1200 to win 1k
Vargas by KO +400 = 250 to win 1k

I am hammering Trinidad tonight. Yes he seems to fall early but this is a seasoned champ who will with stand the early flurries of Vargas. I just don't think Vargas has ever faced anyone with this type of punching power and find it hard to see Vargas lasting past 8 rounds with this guy. I have placed 5 units on Trinidad. Good luck to you all and I hope to god there is no big story tonight about how this fight was fixed or this or that.

FWIW, Crippler is a well respected capper at another site. He has enjoyed much success at picking winners in the boxing ring. He has a 5 unit play on Trinidad -200.

Let's get ready to RUMBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
