Had to makea visit to the ER today. Been having troubles with shortness of breath, lightheaded and racing heartbeat. Heartbeat would be going just fine at about 60 then jump up to 120 for no reason. Had the stress test and did alright. They told me to get off the caffene and beer :cursin: . Put me on a beta blocker. Having a few headaches as of now . Guess I'm craving the caffene. I think I can give up the coffee and pop but I don't know about the beer. Sure would like to pop one open right now. Gonna try and be good and see if this helps though.

Sorry to hear about your episode to the ER. Did you have atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter or paroxysmal tachycardia show up on your EKG? I would think that a further evaluation besides a stress test would be warranted. Could have circulation impedement to the right coronary artery.

boilermaker, i hope you're alright. they're probably right about the caffeine. i don't see any medical benefits to giving up beer though. it's just another case of the man keeping us down. :mj14:

I could stand a few pounds. I'm about 6'2" and 230 pounds. Little soft around the middle but hell I'll be 50 on monday so I don't think that's to bad. I really need to cut out the salt . Also under a lot of stress with the wife and her heart disease, She has now had a pacemaker/defibulator for 2+ years and she has good days and bad days and I constantly worry about her. Got to follow up this visit witht a heart specialist. Guess it could always be worse.

sorry to hear about that boiler. hope all turns out okay. health is most important.

one suggestion which is sure to alleviate the stress and help the heart is to quit watching the dodgers. that will add years to your life.

gl buddy.

Don't fuk with your health. It's only after something serious happens that people start to pay attention.

Maybe this is a wakeup call for you. Do what they tell you and you'll be drinking beer again in no time.....

Best of luck.....

best wishes. Been there, done that with the heart since age 27. I've been off the caffeine now for several years, but you will find you have other triggers than just caffeine that will "wack" out your heart. One of my biggest is fatigue. I don't take any beta blockers or ca channel blockers now either. Would rather have a few skipped beats than take that chit (not advising you to do that, just works for me). I've also had an EP study and ablation on my heart, and that really helped my problem a lot as well.

Take care Boiler, I'm sure it was just a little stress from the Football teams performance:D..

All the best and have a Great Holiday season..

At least you don't have to look at Keadys' comb over this season, that is enough to send anybody into Shock............. :scared

And it might be....

As ScreaminPain said "Don't fuk with your health. It's only after something serious happens that people start to pay attention.
Maybe this is a wakeup call for you. Do what they tell you and you'll be drinking beer again in no time....." and then maybe you won't, but if that's what it takes then....

Also with your wife's condition you don't want to be adding any extra stress on her. Let's go buddy, let's see the new boilermaker. One day at a time and before you know it.... :spotting:

GL 2day and always..... :mj14: (that's water in those bottles) :)
