"It's going to disappear. One day it's like a miracle, it will disappear," Trump said at the White House Thursday as the virus marched across Asia and Europe after US officials said the US should brace for severe disruption to everyday life.

Meanwhile the stock market continues down...down...down.

The Blob has spoken. I hope he gets a dose.

Symptoms
Signs and symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder and the severity of symptoms vary. People with the disorder can:

Have an exaggerated sense of self-importance
Have a sense of entitlement and require constant, excessive admiration
Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it
Exaggerate achievements and talents
Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
Believe they are superior and can only associate with equally special people
Monopolize conversations and belittle or look down on people they perceive as inferior
Expect special favors and unquestioning compliance with their expectations
Take advantage of others to get what they want
Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
Be envious of others and believe others envy them

Behave in an arrogant or haughty manner, coming across as conceited, boastful and pretentious
Insist on having the best of everything ? for instance, the best car or office

At the same time, people with narcissistic personality disorder have trouble handling anything they perceive as criticism, and they can:

Become impatient or angry when they don't receive special treatment
Have significant interpersonal problems and easily feel slighted
React with rage or contempt and try to belittle the other person to make themselves appear superior
Have difficulty regulating emotions and behavior
Experience major problems dealing with stress and adapting to change
Feel depressed and moody because they fall short of perfection
Have secret feelings of insecurity, shame, vulnerability and humiliation

This guy deals with the most important issues facing our country and those around the world..

Republicans always have excuses, I just like pointing them out. It's caught on with you too, just look at your own response.

BTW, you never answered my question about whether it was smart or dumb to cut the 12 person Pandemic Response team in 2018. Let me know when you've thought it through.

New question: Do you think it is smart to appoint a person that doesn't believe in science to oversee the Coronavirus response team?

I know you think Trump is a genius, but these decisions, along with calling the outbreak a hoax aren't a good look. One could argue he looks like an incompetent moron. Can you see it from that point of view?

This virus is so over blown, it?s not a pandemic at all,it?s the media wanting a pandemic...as far as the team goes, I?m not so sure we need a response team, seems to me to be a little paranoia going on

New question: Do you think it is smart to appoint a person that doesn't believe in science to oversee the Coronavirus response team? Doesn?t believe in science?

Pence is a very smart man I trust to make rational decisions, I hope Ben Carson joins the team, I?m sure he has, that?s who I would have appointed

I wouldn?t go as far as a hoax, the media has made it into something it?s not, it?s something to be wary of to take precautions but is far from a pandemic

Hope this helps

Thanks for taking the time to answer. It is good for the forum. :toast:

glad I could be of assistance :0008

In all seriousness, the covid-19 virus has been blown out of proportion by the media. You are more likely to be struck by lightning or win the lottery

The risk of getting COVID-19 in the U.S. is currently low.

Some people who have traveled to places where many people have gotten sick with COVID-19 may be monitored by health officials to protect their health and the health of other people in the community.

The media latches on to stories that catch people?s attention. They are doing what they do.

Not sure what industry you are in but it is already having a seriously negative impact on mine. Component parts from China are being delayed which delays our ability to maintain manufacturing schedules which impacts project schedules which impacts trade workers schedules and jeopardizes upcoming projects and timelines. It?s a huge deal.

It's a "false hope" that COVID-19 will be seasonal and subside in the summer, like the flu, the World Health Organization said Friday.

"We have to assume that the virus will continue to have the capacity to spread," Dr. Mike Ryan, executive director of WHO's health emergencies program, said at the agency's headquarters in Geneva. "It's a false hope to say, yes, that it will disappear like the flu."

"We hope it does. That would be a godsend," he added. "But we can't make that assumption. And there is no evidence."

Now to the numbers.

There is now a total of 95,265 reported cases of COVID-19 globally, and 3281 deaths.

In the past 24 hours, China reported 143 cases. Most cases continue to be reported from Hubei province, and 8 provinces have not reported any cases in the last 14 days.

Outside China, 2055 cases were reported in 33 countries. Around 80% of those cases continue to come from just three countries.

We see encouraging signs from the Republic of Korea. The number of newly-reported cases appears to be declining, and the cases that are being reported are being identified primarily from known clusters.

Although a few countries are reporting large numbers of cases, 115 countries have not reported any cases.

21 countries have reported only one case.

And 5 countries that had reported cases have not reported new cases in the past 14 days.

The experience of these countries and of China continues to demonstrate that this is not a one-way street.

This epidemic can be pushed back, but only with a collective, coordinated and comprehensive approach that engages the entire machinery of government.

AIN'T NO MINOR THING EITHER..
