A's vs TWINS under 8 runs.
Today we have two teams that are playing nothing but unders. Both have solid pitching and suspect bats to say the least. Both teams have hit just 2 HR's on the year and both are hitting .210 in today's situation. The A's come in hitting .210 vs righties and the Twins, well they are hitting just .210 as a team all year long. No wonder the Twins have played 5 of 6 unders and the A's have played 3 in a row scoring just 6 runs. To make matters worse today, both starters are coming off excellent starts which saw them both allow just 1 earned run. Another stat stood out, the A's are striking out at almost one K per inning. Now that is an easy way to neutralize any big innings. Speaking of neutralizing, Mauer and Morneau have yet to hit full stride and with a Lefty on the hill today, give the big edge to Gonzales.
With neither team hitting, cooler weather and good pitching, expect another low scoring contest in Minnesota.
Play the UNDER.
