Tua seems like the logical choice here -- especially since he already beat Rahman by TKO. Rahman looked listless (lack of confidence?) in his last fight with Holyfield -- the one where he developed that grapefruit size tumor thing (looking something like the elephant man). Whereas Tua seems to be back on track after the Byrd defeat, beating Fres Oquendo and making quick work of Moorer and whoever that other tomato can was -- both within 2 rounds.

Last I checked, Tua is a -250 favorite....still debating on making a play on this one. I'm trying to find a good price on Tua by KO.

In the crazy world of boxing I would just have to say that Rahman vs Tua is a draw. The fact they both come in out of shape means a even fight.

I ended up making this play...

Fight WON'T go 10 rounds at 1-2.
Funny thing is the odds were slightly better than picking Tua to win by KO at 5-11.

"the bunker"
i may go the other way

i may go the other way

just for chits and gigles....getting about +180 on over 9.5 rounds.....

reason being the first fight....rahmann was winning handily prior to the "after the bell" punch.......and the weights....rahmann at 248 or close to that and rahmann at 259.5!!!!!!!!.....these guys have not trained properly......max kellerman made the point tonight....i think both are way over their lennox lewis weights......maybe 15 or 20 pounds...

it`s possible these guys may be sluggish....tua usually is early, unless you stand right in front of him.....

not a big wager.....but at almost 2-1,i may take a small flyer.....and i expect these odds to improve......we`ll see tomorrow.....

Tua by knockout is the way I am going.
I have watched the last fight a few times and while Rahman was ahead when he was hit marginally late there was no way he was going to last. Why? if you look at the fight you will see that Tua from the 7th round was landing hard and punishing body shots almost at will, and we all know Tua can hit hard, Rahman would not have lasted (IMO) and I think this time Tua will start stronger and the fight will not go past 6 rounds.
While there is no such thing as a certain winner in any contest
TUA by KO...imo

check out fletch`s post down the list a bit....a nice prop for monday`s card......i honestly don`t like to fool with this stuff when guys don`t appear to have seriously trained....their focus isn`t there...and it looks like rahman camp, with the firing of his trainer, appears to be in a state of flux.....

well

well

at almost 2-1 on over 9.5 rounds,we won about a couple cases of beer...i thought rahman did enough....don king is involved...that`s why i didn`t fool with the outcome....i`ll take it...the guys that had tua to win,got a little lucky....tua was really lethargic......a good jab pretty much neutralizes him.....here comes momday night p.p.v.....

I thought Tua was a little unlucky. He was the only one of the fighters to ever look like knocking his opponent out. Not sure Rahman can have justified claims to be mystified by the result, as he claimed just then.

However, it is Tua own fault. When he had Rahman under the cosh, he really should have gone in for the kill. He had his trainer screaming at him all night to neutralise that Rahman jab, and he ignored those who know best.

Enjoyable fight I guess, but really thought Tua may have edged it.

Tua did have his chances to close this one out early on...he just swings wildly though after he gets in a good shot and ends up tiring himself out. Pretty sad though that he can't finish off Rahman when he was carrying all that extra weight.

In the heavweight division, there is Lennox Lewis and then everybody else. No one is even close.

There's been a lot of people who fought Tua and after the fight said, "he didn't hit so hard."

He built up a rep against a lot of tomato cans (is that the expression) and got lots of press when he took Ruiz out in 19.

But he took out Rahman (in the first one) after hitting him late, and caught Moorer with a great shot last year. But I don't know that he hits as hard after round 1.

Any thoughts from anyone on the PROMOTER stopping the Hopkins-Hakkar fight? I normally try to give boxing the benefit of the doubt but I think Nolan posted an interesting take on it yesterday, suggesting that the promoter had something on the "under".

Of all the fighting saturday night all i saw was the last round of the Hopkins bout and Hakkar certainly looked like he could go on to me.
