Rumors about Auburn coach Tuberville's future swirling

Rumors about Auburn coach Tuberville's future swirling

As rumors swirled Thursday about the future of Auburn football coach Tommy Tuberville, AU athletic director Jay Jacobs stayed calm, at least in his comments to the media. Several Arkansas media sources, including news station KNWA-TV, reported Thursday evening that Tuberville was close to a deal to become the next head coach at Arkansas. But Jacobs told the Opelika-Auburn News he believes Tuberville will remain at Auburn. Another source close to the negotiations said the reports are "just rumors" and that Tuberville has not accepted an offer from Arkansas. Tuberville's Auburn contract currently runs through 2011. He is slated to make an average of $3.1 million over the next four years. -- Opelika-Auburn News

Del Rio was an all american player at USC, an NFL all-rookie teamer with the Saints, a Pro Bowler with the Vikings, a LB coach for the world champion Ravens when their D was awsome, a DC at Carolina when their D was awsome, a HC at Jax with a winning record and and excellent D. the guy is a winner, plain and simple.

Plus, he was my favorite player while he was on the Saints. I was 11 at the time and thought he could walk on water.

Meanwhile Tubbs is looking at his 3rd HC job in the SEC west. He is slimy imo, although he is definitely a good HC.

Let's not forget him beating up retired Chief's great Otis Taylor in the Arrowhead parking lot, and brandishing a shotgun while scabs entered the stadium; both during the strike! What a stand up guy!

oh my....

my source is the man himself, i'm not joking either...i am hesitant to post this but here goes...

Tuberville wants to go to LSU. If , in my opinion when, Miles goes to michigan, Lsu will offer CTT the job and he will take it. Tubs isnt happy as i have said before with the board of trustees and wants out of auburn. He said he will go to Ark if Miles doesnt leave. The only way he will stay at auburn is if we match what bama pays their assistants(which is the most in college football...applewhite makes 360k and our OC makes 180-190)...so in summary i think we all know that miles is gone to mich, Tubs to LSU and i have no idea where that leaves us and ark. We will go after Petrino and ark will go for kiffin.

basically the ball is in LSU's court now if they offer him, that's where he goes...

Tuberville is not happy that Auburn is not warming-up to his ideas about what should be done to improve his program. It has more to do with facility upgrades than money. I believe they will iron those things out in a few days. Arkansas is a divided program right now and they will lose at least one if not both star runningbacks to the NFL. Really can't see Tuberville leaving the stability and talent he has at Auburn for Arkansas. LSU is an interesting flip to this story. There is NOT a doubt in my mind that Miles will leave and be at Michigan next year. That is a done deal. Tuberville to LSU??? They might go after a coach from the state of Alabama, but which one!??! Will post something about that subject in a bit.

D2...my lsu sources tell me what i said is true...they also say that saban has a 10 yr 3.5 mil per yr, with a 10 mil buyout on the table to go back to lsu which he is very tempted to do(he hates tuscaloosa) If tubs is offered the lsu job he takes it. If not he takes the arky job...sunday is the day...the bridges are burned at AU, he's gone
