In a major slump

YTD: 64-65 -23.3

Miami O +6' 2 units

I have been fortunate enough to observe both teams many times this year. Dayton is a grinding team that lacks the offensive punch to blow out many decent teams. Miami is the best team in the MAC and will hang tough all night and may escape Dayton with a W even without Hayes and Ballard.

Bradley +2' 5 units

Just fading the Redbirds here. I just refuse to believe that they will remain undefeated much longer. All 4 of their road wins wers vs. weak teams and they needed OT to escape with the W at Mizz St. I think this is the night they fall.

I need to get on a run and think this is the night to start rolling.

GL on your plays Spang. Is Miami still the best MAC team without Hayes? I like this play, but I'm a little worried about their ability to take on decent competition without Hayes.

They probably still are the best despite the injuries. The league is pretty bad this year. The entire western conf is garbage and up for grabs. I think Eastern Mich would have won the west but the loss of their very talented guard Medlock just crippled them.

In the east Kent is just a shadow of what they were under Christian. They are weak of character, mental toughness and they don't defend like they used to. Akron is rebuilding this year and very young but they still have a small shot given the quality of the league. Ohio U and BG are just so so. Everytime I thing BG is getting it together and becoming a pretty decent team they seem to take a step back.

I do think that road wins will be at premium in the MAC this season and whoever can manage to grab a 3 or 4 league road victories will emerge. So far nobody has demonstrated that they can do it other than the redhawks but the loss of Hayes is big.

Spang, can Toledo keep it within double digits vrs Rhody?

I don't know Air. I watched the Rams run the Zips out of the gym on saturday and they looked pretty damn good but the Zips could not throw it in the ocean that game. I'd like to think Toledo can defend their floor and keep it within the number but they have not fared well at Savage, dropping 4 or 5 straight against the number. RI has played pretty well away from home and is coming off of a great performance. I'm staying away but would lean towards the Rams.

I too am leaning with the Rams pretty strong Spang...what sells it for me is the fact Toledo is absolutely terrible at protecting the ball and avg's close to 20 turnovers a game. The press Rhody will run to try and speed up the game should definitely have Toledo turning the ball over. Rhody has been a machine on offense, and I dont think Toledo has lock down defense to disrupt their shooting.

I can't argue that at all. Like I said they made Akron look really bad and the Zips are a better team with better coaching. This is a great time of the year to play road teams in general until the residents are back on campus.

Does Toledo have a guy who can shut down a star player? Anyone that can take Baron out of the game, or contain him at least? Because he has been on fire to start the season.

Not really, they have given up some big numbers to guards all season. Baron will get his.

Adding:

Utah -4' 4 unit play

It would be difficult to line up a more unimpressive list of patsies to play at home that the Tigers have.
We'll see how they hang on the road far, far from home.
