First plays of the college bball year.
Right out of the gate, and the one thing I am not going to do is surprise you with something off the wall, at least not tonight.....two very popular plays, probably, but I'm going with them.
Marquette ML -155 over Okie State..1 unit....semifinal action in Maui....after having watched OSU in both the N Texas game last week and LSU last night, I question if they are a vintage OSU defensive team......they did get the win last night vs a depleted LSU team, but otherwise, they have been an unwise bet anywhere outside of the cozy gym of theirs back home in Stillwater......meanwhile, I really do like Marquette's team this year and they are a solid top-20 team in my opinion.....prove it, win tonight....figured them into the finals of this tourney when I frist saw the bracket, and nothing I've seen in the early going has swayed me otherwise.
UCLA -3.5 over MSU....1 unit....sure, I am a little nervous because UCLA struggled shooting last night and they dont have Collison....but I really think MSU is going to run out of gas at some point tonight....they were going at break neck speed last night vs Missou and struggled to hold them off at the end....and not to get to much into a ref discussion, they wont be going to the charity stripe as much tonight vs the Bruins as they did vs Mizz yesterday.....Bruins are tough on D, thats their rep and the game will be called accordingly....basically, I've loved UCLA matching up against just about anybody the last two years so long as its not Florida....sure, this Bruin team has a different look, but I like Ben Howland's boys, the line is a small one, and they should cover this one.
