Well, I'm back...or should I say back to posting...Picks were taking a down turn so I didn't want to sway someone to the wrong side...I will go back and figure out my posted record later...Somewhere in the low to mid 40% range...Waited for the new year and conference play to start...let's start this new year out right...


Michigan +9 - Big Ten opener for both teams. Killingsworth is a stud, but I don't see the Hoosiers by DD in this game. NOTE: I think Mike Davis is the WORST Head Coach anywhere so this pick may be biased.

BC -13 - BC will cover this number by half time. Too much firepower for the Minutemen. The Eagles will be in the 80s...UMass in the 60s

TennChat +5 - Could be an outright winner here but I will take the points. Lots of scoring by both teams. The Mocs will have to step up their 3point defense as the Paladins have been hitting quite a few over their last few games.

St Marys +1 - The Gaels are looking for their first road win and should get it tonight. The difference in this game may come down to the team that can convert behind the 1point line. The Horned Frogs have not shot the ball well as of late from anywhere on the floor. Home court not withstanding, give the edge to the St Mary's.

If BC will cover the # by halftime why not just play the first half then and not worry about getting back doored

I agree...I don't post half time lines but I do play them...

A couple of years ago, I tracked taking every big chalk on the half line vs the game line. While some games won or lost both half and game, there was a big difference in games that covered the first half and did not cover the game line vs games that did not cover the half but covered the game line. The conclusion was that if you liked the favorite, bet the half line. If you like the dog, bet the game line. This data was from around the 99-00 season, give or take a year.
