Buffalo +6 big play (8 units)

I'll get into the reasoning tomorrow but really love this play.

had a talk with someone associated with the Akron BB program and he indicated that after seeing Miami that they think the Bulls could be the team to beat in the east. This will be a tough match up for Akron for several reasons. Buffalo is a veteran club, they are also very physical team and should have a decided advantage down low.

Akron is also in the midst of a prolonged shooting slump and is a team that needs to shoot well, especially from beyond the arc. The Zips are not really built to blow any decent team out and the six points seem to be very generous here. Even though the Zips success on their own floor has been great over the past 4-5 years, this team is very beatable.

Also playing:

N Illinois +4' 2 units

The loss of Ball States Anthony Newell in their last game can be viewed as a very devestating blow. he was one of the very best forwards in the MAC at 15+ppg and 9+ rpg. Ball State is very thin on talent without him. The Huskies should hang around and might just win this one straight up.

Going to put a couple bucks on a ML parlay as well.

Oh no...I was liking Akron pretty big tomorrow. Decisions...decisions. GL Spang.

Hey, the Zips could do it if they break out of their shooting slump. They will need some great guard play as well. It could happen but I'm betting that it does not.

Thanks fellas.

Northern up to 5 at my book, going to make another play on the Huskies.

NIU +5 (3 more units)

Eastern Mich -4 (-120) one unit,

Anticipate a total or two if the numbers look right, all three MAC games should be grinders.

Dammit Spang you beat me to this!! The Zips dont match up well at all in the frontcourt with the Bulls and that is where the zips experience is so that isnt a good sign. The Zips have some good exciting young guards but like Spang said they are not a very good shooting team.

The JAR is a tough place to play but I dont know about that with this team????

Spang, love the play. The teams Akron has beaten, other than Niagara, have been pretty bad teams...all ranked 280+

Buffalo is good at defending the 3 so if Akron is going to rely on that tonight, I think we could see Buffalo get a straight up win.

+190 ML but the 5 points its at now is pretty generous

Outkast, You know this team very well. You made a point in one of my other threads about the lack of production of the McKnights that was right on the money. I went to the Pitt game this year when Brett dropped in 23 and thought he was going to emerge and become the man for the Zips on the offensive end. Well , it has not happened. We just have no consistant offensive performers at all. Chris Mcknight has not really improved at all from last year. We get nothing from the center, and Nate and Jimmy are not consistant producers as well but both defend very well.

The only bright spot has been the play of Humpty.
He has a chance to be one of the best PGs ever at Akron.

Defense is great, but someone has to emerge as a go to guy to drop in a key shot or two. I've yet to see who that guy is.

I decided to stay home and watch this one on the computer rather than brave the crappy weather.

Very, very, very physical game with the officials stepping in and stopping play to cool down the guys on at least 3 occasions.

The Zips are doing a nice job of doubling down low forcing the Bulls to take several 3s which they are not shooting well. The Bulls, as expected, are dominating the glass and hanging in there with a 2pt halftime lead. It should stay tight to the end.

Look'n good for ya Spang....I was hoping for Akron to be the one to come out 2nd half determined, but looks like the Bulls beat them to it.

nice call spang, you hit it dead on....appreciate your insights into the MAC, I personally dont' cap the conference since i dont know the teams well and theyre all in ohio/illinois area a bit far, but I was at UB for a year when they had Turner Battle, Calvin Cage, Jason Bird, etc and I liked watching the games.......rode w/you on buffalo tonight, not as much as everyone else here had but good enough for me....thanks for the winner
