Tuesday Morning QB

Another week has gone by in college football?s regular season and not much changed in the upper echelon of the BCS standings.
Listed as 21.5-point home favorites in a game against Mississippi State, the No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide had their bettors on pins and needles at halftime with only a 12-7 lead.
However, Alabama smartened up in the second half and scored 20 unanswered points to cover the spread in a 32-7 win, much to the joy of Tide supporters.
The convincing win enabled the Crimson Tide to remain as the No. 1 team in the BCS and the AP and USA Today polls.
The Georgia Bulldogs dropped from 10th to 11th in the BCS standings despite beating the Auburn Tigers 17-13.
People who wagered on the Bulldogs probably consider it poetic justice though as Georgia failed to cover as 9-point road favorites.
Maybe it was due to the fact that they were missing a quintet of players?who were suspended for a brawl?but the Florida State Seminoles were one of the teams from the Top 25 that were upset Saturday.
Favored by a touchdown, Florida State would end up losing to the Boston College Eagles by a final count of 27-17.
- The college basketball season started and the preseason No. 1 North Carolina Tar Heels managed to defeat the Pennsylvania Quakers by a score of 86-71, unfortunately Tar Heel bettors were a little ?blue? after the game as UNC failed to cover as 32.5-point home favorites.
No such problems for the preseason No. 2, University of Connecticut Huskies, who also won, defeating the Western Carolina Catamounts by a final of 81-55?just enough to cover a 24.5-point spread.
- To all Pittsburgh backers, our condolences?what a wild finish to that Sunday nighter. San Diego bettors cashed a ticket that was a gift when that TD on the final play was incorrectly wiped off the board, and for a few fleeting minutes Steeler bettors had money in their hands, only to watch it blow away again.
- History seems to be repeating itself in the NFL, albeit with different teams.
Last year, the New England Patriots flirted with the perfect season while the Miami Dolphins flirted with a winless season.
This year?s incarnations of the perfect teams are manifested in the Tennessee Titans and the Detroit Lions.
For the tenth week in a row, the Titans cashed in on the moneyline as they earned a straight up win against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a final of 24-14.
The Titans? 10-point margin of victory was also enough to cover a 2.5-point line upping Tennessee?s SU and ATS records to 10-0 and 9-0-1 respectively.
While Tennessee has been the perfect moneyline team to bet on, the Detroit Lions have been the perfect moneyline team to bet against.
Entering Week 11, Detroit sported an 0-9 record going into a matchup with the Carolina Panthers, and was a 14-point underdog.
The Lions put up more of a fight this week but still managed to lose 31-22, adding yet another SU loss but they did manage to cover the spread.
While the Lions continued its streak of futility SU, the team has quietly been profitable in the last six games, earning a 4-2 record ATS.
Just a heads up - the team has a bit of an Over streak going with 4 Overs, 0 Unders and 1 Push on the Total; including three-straight Overs.
If you bet on the Philadelphia Eagles in their Week 11 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals you got screwed, unless you played the Under as well?Philly was a 9-point road fave.
The two combined for the NFL?s first tie game in six years as the Eagles and Bengals failed to break a 13-13 deadlock through regulation and overtime.
The combined score of 26 went Under the set Total of 41 though.
Cleveland finished the week off with an underdog cover in Buffalo on Monday night?weren?t the Bills good five or six weeks ago?
Have a great week
