back on track with a 3-1 slate last night, overall record recovers to 67-55-2. guess there was reason to be skeptical of the marist line. tough card tonight imo, finally settled on four plays:
tulane -5: tulane an improving team since the return of linton johnson, who is a force inside for the green wave. houston still struggling to find the right chemistry, especially on the road. tonight cougars try the short lineup again, starting 6-3 marcus oliver in place of 6-7 louis truscott, a disciplinary move. last time they tried this at st louis, houston was outrebounded by nine by the shorter billikens, who are the worst rebounding team in conference usa. don't think this move is going to work in new orleans.
ecu +11: now this is a scary play as pirates traditionally not a very good road team, but i have a couple of reasons for trying them here. ecu playing much better ball lately winning four of last five, with only loss by 10 at cincy. don't really lay much on moral victories but pirates gained a lot of confidence by playing well in that difficult setting. also, tonight marks the return of 6-8, 230 lb gabriel mikulas, a 21 year old argentinian who sat out the first part of the season for playing in unsanctioned games down south. last year he was their leading scorer and second leading rebounder and should really give the pirates a lift here. uab has not been as impessive as past years on their home court this season, only 2-4 ats.
nc state -7 -140: okay, the buying of the point and a half here is mere superstition for me as i have struggled with narrow ats losses bettin on my wolfpackl in the past.; obviously would still play at the prevailing 8-. not much more to be said about fsu letdown setting, but believe pack should return to the esa with a good confidence boost from the virginia game. also, my man monte towe returns to raleigh tonight to have his jersey honored at halftime. old coach stormin' norman sloan will also be on hand for what promises to be a big night for the nc state basketball family - i'm sure someone will be in the locker room pregame evoking the memories of the '74 national championship game.
miss state +7-: i know razorbacks have a tough home court but to me this line assumes ark will easily handle miss state by close to dd. i really like the bulldogs and think they can keep up
their level of play enough to keep this one close.
