BC +4.5, 2*
ISU undefeated but has played no one. BC starting to get rolling and looked good against UMASS. Bell troched these guys for 43 in a win last year, and the PG Sullivan had some quotes in the paper that made it sound like he's scared. Likewise for Eustachy, who is "just hoping they can stay in" their next few games against real comp.

Freshman Hinnant and Smith are coming on for BC. They don't have a great big man, but their guards will give ISU lots of trouble.

BC 8-1 ATS last three years as road dogs of 3.5-6 points. I think they get the SU win here.

Davidson-1.5, 3*

This line looks way out of whack. Hopefully that's only because the Bonnies are more well known than Davidson. Bonnies have lost a few in a row and have not won on the road. Davidson should be favored by at least five according to my #s ... This is a good team:

Wildcats 20th In Mid-Major Poll

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For Immediate Release
December 9, 2002
The Davidson Wildcats' men's basketball team, sporting a 4-1 record thus far this season, was ranked 20th in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll released today.

Since a season-opening loss at Duke in which the Wildcats trailed by just six with 1:10 to play, Davidson has reeled off four consecutive victories, including a convincing 75-56 triumph over cross-county rival Charlotte on Dec. 7.

Davidson is currently the top three-point shooting team in the country at 49.6 percent while hitting the most three-pointers per game (11.4). The Wildcats are also among the nation's leaders in scoring offense (88.6 ppg, fourth), scoring margin (26.4 points, fifth) and free throw percentage (76.3, 19th).

Individually, freshman Matt McKillop is second in the country in three-point field goal percentage at 68.8 (min. 2.0 per game). Senior point guard Wayne Bernard is tied for 11th in assists per game at 7.0.

The Wildcats next play host to St. Bonaventure on Tuesday, Dec. 10, in Belk Arena at 7 p.m. A win against the Bonnies would equal Davidson's best start under McKillop. Of the past six Wildcat teams that have started a season with at least five wins in their first six games, five went to the NCAA Tournament while the other played in the NIT.

kinda line st. bonny here, played a tougher schedule and davidson caught a very young duke team at perfect time: early! aside from dukies, schedule is soft. davidson will play right into st. bonny strength of treys and pressing...
