Philadelphia needs to win out and hope for a GB victory next week against Chicago in order to get the 2nd seed and a bye in the first week of the playoffs. They should be very much motivated in this game. Minnesota has had a tough few weeks, and while it?s not fair to say that all of their misfortunes are to blame on the snow and constant moving and rescheduling of games, it probably played a factor in their lackluster performances. Here they go again. Adrian Peterson is expected to go despite ankle, knee and thigh injuries, yet he has not been the factor we are used to seeing, eclipsing 100 yards rushing just twice since week 7.
The Eagles can be hurt on defense, specifically through the air. They have given up 30 TD passes this year and have only got to the QB 35 times all season. Unfortunately Joe Webb is not the QB to hurt them. He is making his first NFL start against a fired up team that has shown the ability to score in a hurry. Twice this season they have scored 28 points in one quarter. They struggle with upper-level WRs, having been burned by Andre Johnson (149 yards, 2tds), Kenny Britt (225 yards, 3tds), and Michael Crabtree (105 yards, 1td). The Bears (21.0 ypc, 3tds) and Giants (17 rec, 212 yards, 3tds) collectively torched them as a group. The Vikings game plan should include a heavy dose of Sidney Rice.
The total opened at 44.5, dropped to 39.5 Sunday with the threat of snow, and now has landed at 42.5. The weather forecast for tonight is 31 degrees with winds of 11mph. Philadelphia has scored at least 26 points in every games since their Week Eight bye, which leaves just 17 for the Vikings to score. I say it goes OVER.
