Mario Lemieux won't be the only prominent player missing from the Penguins' lineup this evening. Right winger Stephane Richer (neck) and defenseman Hans Jonsson (finger) will not play, and center Robert Lang, who had oral surgery yesterday, is questionable, at best.
We're going to miss those guys," said forward Jan Hrdina, who plans to rejoin the lineup tonight after missing two games because of back spasms. "But what can you do?"
Coach Rick Kehoe said the Penguins hadn't decided who would start in net tonight because of back-to-back games at Philadelphia and at home against San Jose.
When the Penguins played back-to-back games last week, Johan Hedberg started the first game, his 10th straight, at home against Tampa Bay and Jean-Sebastien Aubin started the second game against the New York Islanders. This however is a different situation, with the all-star break following Wednesday's home game. The Penguins will have five days between games.
"We're comfortable with either goaltender," Kehoe said.
Playing in Philadelphia has been an Achilles' heel for the Penguins with an all-time record of 16-76-7 and a 1-15 mark in the past 16 games.
