Well, I just cant pass up making a comment--and even a play--on tonight's big game, PU at IU. My alma mater versus a team that has won me some good dough this basektball season. Throw in all the other Samspon subplots and big ten implications, I have been on pins about this game all day. It ought to be fun. And, I am staying with the Boilers.

My play is Purdue +5.5 over IU

The last time these teams played with both in the top-15 was in 1994......when Toledo Prophet was a senior at IU.....sigh.

Anyway, I have been touting Purdue all season in this forum. Hard to believe, but I am 8-0-1 on the Boilers this year on my posted plays. I have never had a run like that on one team before. Its been kinda cool. The winning, and also watching this Purdue team develop.

I love Indiana. I want them to win this game. They ought to win this game tonight. There is a feeling that if both teams play their A games, that the Hoosiers will have enough to pull it out in their end. But how many times has IU dialed up their A game this year? Meanwhile, Purdue seems to improve each game and have redefined what their A game is all season long.

I think IU comes out fast tonight. Gets a big early punch in. But, think about the Uconn game. Just like that game, Purdue will scrap, claw and battle their way into the game. I dont think IU can match up with Hummel. Stemler will be a step behind him and expect Hummel to shoot them back into it. But, unlike Uconn, Purdue does not have all that superior interior presence that allowed the Huskiers to push right on by IU, grab control of the game and win without IU ever getting within a possession.

No, this will eventually be a back and forth affair. Many lead changes. In the end, IU takes a lead. Purude misses a three point to tie. DJ secures the rebound. Drills a pair of free throws in the final seconds. IU wins 72-67.....and its a winner by a hook.

Should be fun. Think Purdue's frosh--all are native Hoosiers--have been tired of hearing about Gordon. They can not wait to show him up. Yet, E-twaun's Moore HS team beat Gordon's last year in the state finals. Gordon wants a little revenge. Motivations abound in this one.

Good luck with whatever you play.
