bigplaymakerjoe -- I think I read where you saw Toledo in action so you probably know as much as I. They're a very young team not much height but my play is as much against Siena as on Toledo.

Siena has a good outside shooter in Dwayne Archobald, but as a team they haven't been playing well. They are averaging 20 turnovers/game and they had 17 in the first half alone in their last game vs Cleveland State. The Saints shot 36% from the field vs Cleveland State and only 29% vs Albany in the game before that. Toledo is averaging a solid 45% from the field and 45% from 3-points if you take out their game vs Dayton where they were just overwhelmed by the Flyer defense.

While Toledo is small, Siena is not much bigger, their leading rebounders are Archbold (6-6) and James Clinton (6-9).

To my knowledge, there is no rivalry here and Siena might look past Toledo to their first MAAC league games vs Marist (Thursday night) and vs Niagara (Saturday night)

Siena is 1-4 ATS this season.

FWIW, Sagerin ratings make Toledo (73.93 Pure Points) a 2.4 point favorite in this game after factoring in the home field advantage for Siena (67.61 + 3.80)

One further thought: As Archobald goes so goes Siena.

Archobald takes a lot of the teams shots but he hasn't found his touch yet this year hitting just 39% from the field so far. He has also been turning the ball over a lot and is averaging 4 fouls per game.

IMO, if Toledo's 3 guard set-up can frustrate Archobald, Toledo can win this game.

Daydreaming --

Seems odd when the world is on Iowa doesn't it?

Here's my thinking:

First of all I think that Recker and Evans are great players but as a team Iowa is overrated. Sagerin ratings agree, making Iowa #29 not #11.

FWIW, Iowa's 74-42 win over Northern Iowa last year was against a much worse Northern Iowa team; the line on that game was Iowa -21.

Northern Iowa might have a little revenge on their minds after last year but more importantly this is a much bigger game for them than for Iowa. Iowa plays 3 intrastate teams in their next 3 games all of whom are looking to pull the big upset to make their year. Iowa is just looking to get through these games and go 3-0.

I see this game as kind of like the Missouri - St Louis game last night. On paper that should have been a ten point win for Miz, but St Louis played scrappy basketball and it came down to the final shot.
