line of blazers -5 looks a little fishy suggesting home court ad between two equal teams when facts appear otherwise. preseason injuries have sunk uab into major funk right now losing four straight, one short of school record. home attendence at an all time low in birmingham and many blazer loyalists are saying it's time to end the bartow family reign. uab 1-5 in conference play, 7-4 s/u but 2-6 ats @ home. current losing streak began with ugly 50-36 loss at lowly so miss, where blazers set new team record for fewest points scored. blazer shooting has been atrocious, barely 40% for the year and sinking farther to 36.8% over the last five. ragged play has carried over to defensive efforts as uab has allowed cusa leaders memphis, houston and marquette to all shoot over 50% in three consecutive home losses.
tulane one of those rare teams that seem to prepare and play better on the road than at home, having lost all three cusa home games while going 3-0 in conferrence road play. green wave also 5-2 s/u, 6-1 ats away and coming off disappointing home loss to so fla. besidese conf wins, tulane also prevailed @ depaul, ga tech and vcu, all arguably better than blazers; only road losses @ sec powers ky and fla. hard to believe that uab will be able to put tulane away convincingly so going to take a stab with the wave and the points despite enigmatic line.
