First two NFL posts of the young season.

NY Jets +3' two units
49's -1 two units

I feel that Brady and the Pats are just not where they need to be just yet and they were most fotunate to escape Buffalo with a win. The loss of Mayo in the middle of the defense going into this game is a big factor as well.

I'm probably asking a lot out of Sanchez but he is greatly aided by the backfield duo of Jones and Washington. The Jets can and will try to do a lot of safe stuff underneath with Washington and TE Keller to safely get Sanchez into the game with some confidence. On the other side of the ball you could not have asked for a more solid effort from the Jets D against Houston. I just think that this is a nice time to face the Pats and the 3' is a decent number for the Jets to be catching at home.

SF is very quietly becoming a pretty decent football team. They seem to be assuming the personality of Coach Singletary, a blue collar team that does the little things right to win football games. Their defense is getting better with time and so is QB Hill. Though not spectacular by any stretch, he does a very good job of protecting the ball and keeping defenses honest with a well balanced attack. I am a little concerned by the slow start of Gore but think he 'll start rolling soon enough. I don't expect to continue seeing great value with SF for much longer, but I think it remains with them at home against Seattle.

Adding some totals. I stumbled upon an old formula that I used to have some success with back when I used to actually enjoy the NFL. I dusted it off and applied it to a handful of todays games. Without going into specifics, I will admit that it is geared to find some good under plays it will find an occasional over or two as well.

half unit plays:
Jax under 43'
GB under 42

one unit play:
Denver under 39

two unit plays
Buffalo over 42
Tenn under 41

With you on GB under but against on Jax. Like the Denver under too but something stinks here. Why isn't that line 36.5?

Good luck buddy!

Thanks Agent

I hit 3 out of the 4 that I needed the most so not too bad for the day.

I really like this 'niner team but fear that finding good value with them will become much more difficult going forward.

Just a great coaching job by the Jets' Ryan who is doing a very nice job of breaking in their young QB. Rex has also left his mark on their defense which has been just terrific as well. At this point they are simply a better team than the Pats, but there is a lot of football still to be played.

4-3 + 3.7 so far for the day and season.
