These are popping up from time to time around my area. Every tournament gets sold out and is always for a charity of some sort.

When you arrive, you can opt to take one more club for an additional $50. Not every Two Irons tournament does this though.....

I'm gonna bring my 5 iron, 9 iron and putter.

What would you bring?

I would do like you, Nick, 5, 9, and putter. Gary the man-child bringing 7 iron because he can hit it 195-210 and we need perfectly struck 5 iron with roll downhilll to go same distance :142smilie

It's more about which clubs you hit better IMO. I can hit gap 120 and its also a great little sand wedge.

That was my approach, along with what I get the most utility from. My 7i maxes out around 175 and my SW is a good for 100yds and I hit both of those clubs somewhat consistently well. Since it is a scramble format, maybe I'm not taking the right approach, but I'd set up as if I was playing my own ball the whole way in.

I would have to view the score card of the course you are playing. How long are the holes? It sounds like you have it covered with 5 & 9 irons. it is all about what You feel comfortable hitting. Also it sounds like you should discuss with your team what each guy is bringing as you might have a ringer who is taking a 2 iron that he hits 250 yards. I agree that a 9 iron can be opened up to use chipping. GL and have fun :0008

Unfortunately like in most scrambles, the winning score will be whatever team that decides to cheat gives themselves, which is unfortunate. How many charity scrambles have you played in that you said at the end, "how in the hell did they shoot that score?" Just sayin'. But it would be a fun tournament to play in.

This happens every golf outing I'm in.
