I see the top cappers on this board are on Duke and that is fine! Duke is the EASY choice in this matchup! Taking the favorite when the spread is between -1 and -5 is always a consensus selection! But here is why Arizona will win:
Quickness: Say what you want to about Duke being fast up and down the court. .. Arizona is faster! I remember in 97 when everyone thought that Kentucky would run the Cats out of the game and look what happened there! Arizona has always been underestimated regarding their speed and quickness. I believe the top cappers around here and everywhere else have missed this crucial point that may be the difference in the game.
Team effort and balance: Shut down Williams and Battier and what do you have? Obviously it is easier said than done, but the Cats' defense has also been severely underrated and Jefferson WILL shut down one of the top dogs for Duke as he as done the entire tournament against the other teams that have been faced! Arizona is well balanced and has been able to get offensive production out of the likes of players like Edgerson which is usually defensive-minded! This allows for adjustments to be made during the game when a team has so many offensive weapons at their disposal. I believe that Duke does not have as many offensive weapons as Arizona does (I'm sure I'll hear about this one)!
This night should finish off a storybook ending for Arizona. . . so far, they have played the best ball in the tourney. . . Duke is favored in this game because of all the heavy money that always goes on Duke and the great overall season that they had going in to the tournament. They were the favorite! But in the end, the better tournament team will come through and show everyone why the started the season #1.
For those of you betting on Arizona tonight, have some guts and take the Money Line. . . these Cats will settle for nothing less than a victory tonight and everything is in place for this team to do it!
