Kansas get #1 seed and what do they earn? Trip to Madison Wisconsin, to play Illinois?

I touched on this earlier on how it may be of some kind of advantage that Illinois is playing on a Big 10 floor not too far away from their house. I don't know how Kansas traveled this week but that has been in the back of my mind. I just bailed out of my Kansas play. Anyone know who is officiating this game???

Texas with a GREAT effort in the 2H. No doubt about it. Difference btwn Texas and Oregon is the Longhorns became a running team, whereas the Ducks always were one, all season long. Surprised me with their good defensive effort in the 1H, but seemed to be more careless w/ the ball in the 2H. That last drive and basket by Freddie Jones was simply AMAZING. How he pulled up to avoid the charge...wow. Rooting for the Jayhawks. Wanna see that matchup in the next round.:)

QUACK, QUACK !!!

p.s. Christoferson could use Shaq's FT coach.

Couple of Observations:

Is it just me or is:

The level of talent in NCAA down due to kids leaving early or signing out of high school! Hard to believe Oregon is a top 10 team in the country!

Big 12 teams are advancing due to level of intensity. Pac 10 teams have equal talent but are consistently out hustled by B12.
Finesse (P10) versus Brute Force (B12).

Thought the OU Ariz game did a 180; when Jabari Brown mugged the Ariz frosh and both got T's. Sooners intimidated the Cats!

Roy Williams brought this on himself. A few years back when Wisconsin went to the final four, he said that the style of play from Wisconsin was bad for basketball. THis week, his comments were mentioned over and over again in Madison and the main reason that the fans here in Madison are so anti-kansas. Badger fans will be for Illinois today and if kansas wins pro-ducks on Sun.

i haven't seen a whole game of Oregon but I am very impressed with Ridnaur and Jackson....granted Freddie Jones didn't really get in game but from sounds of things he must be solid too....

Ridnaur is best player i have seen on west coast this year.......think he might be best point guard in country.....

Oregon's a Top 10 team. Sure, they had their down moments early on in the season (like losing to Portland), but they were the most consistent team in the Pac 10 as the season wore on. They showed what they could do in the 1H today, but Texas was scrappy, outrebounded and plain outhustled them in the 2H. Not a knock against the Ducks, just give credit to Texas. BTW, Oregon shot 53% for the game. Pretty good against a "physical" team, no?

Think teams like Missouri and Virginia were the pretenders in the regular season. They practically played themselves out of the Top 25! However, Mizzou has stepped it up in the tourney big time.

Freddie Jones is solid. He's got hops, but Texas did a good job of holding him in check today, as he didn't get his usual # of touches. THink Oregon's game plan today was to stay on the perimeter and let Ridnour and Jackson do the scoring and run the show.

I agree talent down in the NCAA. I think I was on at least 15 teams TY that went on prolonged scoring droughts (0-6 pts in 8+ minutes--the latest being Cal v Pitt). Noone shoots midrange anymore.
But, your finesse v brute force analogy is a little off. That move by Jabari Brown would have had an entirely different effect against UCLA, USC, Cal and Stanford--they would have met force w/ force. Zona is still young inside--they'll learn. Remember the Pac 10 has produced champions in this sport--RECENTLY!!

I been trying to tell everyone I know about Ridnour since last year. I think he's a better player than Dickau, but didn't get the pub cause of the postseason success of Zaga. I would love to see the Ducks v the Jayhawks on Sunday. I think that would be both conferences best teams and would finalize all these arguments (at least until next March! And I cant wait!)
