I'm on Tech. For those interested I never mind going against them if the time is right but IMO they're a great value at this point in the season.
Reasons to take them in this game.
Tech plays OU very well 4-3 last 7 straight up wins. OU hasn't won in LBK since 2003.
Landry Jones totally chits the bed on the road.
Tech's D is holding teams to around 60% of their offensive average. In the past that % has been 150 and up.
Tech's running game is on a different level this year with Williams as a physical rb and Stephens has the guy to make the D miss. YPR for Tech offense and OUs D are both right around 5. I think that number is going to be big. Teams didn't have to worry about the running game in the past so it made it easier for their LBs to drop back and also their d lineman to just worry about rushing. Now they have to worry about both.
IMO Tech has far greater options on offense. Like I said in the ISU game and will keep saying the TE for Tech Amaro is a mismatch ever week. The kid was the #1 TE coming out of high school and is a freak. He has size, runs great routes and his hands are like glue.
Lubbock has always been one of the more difficult places to play(their ats at home record shows that) but in the last 3 years they've lost that advantage. There will be an attendance record Saturday and I expect the Jones to get back the advantage for the team that is use to have.
I do think it's a close game but getting points at home is a good situation.
IMO OU has had too many injuries and players leaving and the depth and talent just isn't there. Every since they lost Broyles last year Jones hasn't been the same. The numbers show that and haven't changed.
