The signs in the Carrier Dome had "U Can" the other nite vs SIU.All over Storrs are U Can signs.Many of you here really don't care about who wins this but "Can U Conn" cover the 8.5 pts.
So,so.much has been written up with great info and analysis.The game on Dec 4th has been broken down minut by minut.Terps won by 12,Baxter dominated Okafor,etc,etc.
Maryland has the best talent in the tourney.They have one of the top painters in the country in Baxter and one of the shooters in Dixon.Add everyone around them with their depth.Conn are still puppies growing.Their 3 best players are a soph and 2 freshmen.They don't have the inside players to go against Bax and Holden.Their perimeter game is no way close to the terps.
Calhoun said it best yest."If its a wrestling match,we lose."A whole bunch of things have to fall in place for Conn to win this.It's stopping the inside attack, transition,etc,etc.
Terps run their flex offense.Hi-low screens,wings cutting,and Dixon running baseline with screens from the Sycamore Tree's.Dixon is the best player in the nation playing w/o the ball.
Those are my favorite offensive players.Calhoun knows this.That's why I bring this up.Calhoun has always come up with a game strategy.Look back in his career and he always does something.Today he will no doubt run a gimmick or change something.He did a few yrs ago with Duke in the finals.He did it 6 or 7 times this yr in the BE.
Conn has trouble taking care of the ball.Brown is a decent pt gd who penetrates with his dribble and dishes.Butler is the stud.Can he get free of Mouton hawking him.Can Gordon step up like he has and cause the terps problems on defense.Will Okafor get 2 quick fouls when Blake pounds the ball into Baxter.I could go on and on and many of you have alreadt answered most of these questions in capping the game.
Conn is young and loose.They will have the Cuse crowd around them.They have played well in the Dome.They love to play transition b-ball.They are a good defensive team.I think they can stay with the Terps and give them some problems.
I'll take the 8.5 pts. Calhoun will do something to slow down the Terp attack.It's maybe a strecth because the Terps on paper should be 34-0.And their not.They have struggled and are not invincable.And if Blake plays like he did the other nite U Can win this outright.
Kansas -6 or 7 over Oregon.
Inside game of the Jayhawks will wear down the Ducks.When you live by the outside shot you die by it also.This does not include the Indiana yest. GL
