I am keeping track of this MNF...and I said this to a few readers...it dont matter on mnf (spread) pick a winner...it has come into effect once this yr...I am a firm believer in this....I dont give a shit if ya comment on the games at half time nor during the game...remember...U dont have the power to jinx a team by doing this and if ya did U wouldnt be here doing it...I dont believe in jinx's...ya see pitchers coming off the field between innings not stepping on the white lines and coaches do the same BUT,,,YOGI BERRA said it best...if I am going out there and step over the white line for good luck....hmmmmmm I shouldnt have to be going out there if it was good luck....I dont believe in Jinx but do believe in trends and this MNF trend where the spread dont matter is one I do follow....The players play on athletic ability not jinx's..of ya believe in this jinx crap then ya must believe in horoscopes...and ur and URANUS

Amen Skeeter! Only problem is this won't convince those who believe in the "jinx" and they will still complain. . . I know from experiences that I have had with others here at MadJacks!

On the course!
I don't think anyone really believes in "jinx's", but it pisses a lot of people off when someone spouts off before the game is over.

Still not sure what is so difficult about not commenting that a game is 'over' or has covered when the outcome is still in doubt. Of course it doesn't affect the outcome, but it been a long-standing unwritten rule here not to do so, since many longtime posters don't feel its appropriate. But obviously some people choose to ignore this when politely asked not to do so, even after the 378th time.

Hoops,

If you are talking to me, I was NEVER asked "politely" to do so. . . instead I was subjected to "some people NEVER learn" crap.

Guess if we shouldn't talk before a game is over, then this forum should forget about posting halftime bets with comments right??? After all, that may lead to a jinx.

For Saturday and Sunday games (or when there are multiple games going on at once), I intend to have an "In game comments" thread where people on this board can post information that others may miss if watching another game. . . this may help with halftime betting. . . it may not. There are several people that don't even have access to a TV and would like to hear how teams have scored or how they are looking on TV. There is no reason that games should be kept in a vaccum. . . especially in the first half when it may help another with their halftime wager.

Those who believe in the all mighty jinx SHOULD NOT READ IT. . . its that simple.

BearDown- Nope, wasn't talking specifically about you, as there are a few people who have a habit of doing so.

Hmmm. I wasn't aware of this.

I don't mind not doing this anymore, but I really don't see what the big deal is. Perhaps someone needs to write these "unwritten rules" somewhere. Then I can understand someone getting upset over it.

My two cents.

Damn Bear, you know I promised myself that I wasn't going to waste my time with you. However, you keep pushing the issue and for being a student, you will never learn.

You have NO CREDIBILTY! You post the first quote, promising that in the future you will wait till the game is over to share your enlightening commentary. Then, you tell the forum that you are leaving after insulting the owner. So, now your back and you want to start your own special feature 'In Game Comments'. What a joke!

Get a life buddy. Go out and make some friends. You LIVE at this site and post an average of a 1/2 dozen worthless comments every day. If you must live here, then get familiar with a great feature, it's called the CHATROOM!!

You asked me to call you to discuss it with you, and when I did you wouldn't pick up. You then use your caller ID to get my number and threaten to harass me by calling my voicemail number!

Dr. Cancer is even worse than you. Here's a kid who averages about 10 posts a day since he signed up a few months ago. He then has the nerve to ridicule a fellow member for his spelling!

Why don't you and Doc hook up and become good buddies? Go out, watch games together and talk, talk, talk!!!

EMJ,

If you are gonna talk again, at least tell the truth. . .You called me twice inside of 10 minutes and I wasn't around to answer my phone as I was at the gym. . . I said I would call IF you continue to post your crap under my threads. . . I thought this was made VERY clear. . .I noticed your thread that you started regarding MNF (taking Oakland) and I left it alone. . . why can't you do the same to my posts??? It is a very simple remedy that you for some reason cannot grasp.

Anyways, the great thing about America (and being a human being for that matter) is that I am free to change my mind. And I have. . . end of story there. . . "grown men" (since you continue to try and pin me down as some kid) do it all the time. . .

Finally, let Jack speak for himself. . . did I insult him? That is for HIM to answer. . . not you. . . I realize again that you would like to think of yourself as a high ranking member on this site with the b.s. that you dish, but the truth is that you are simply a scrub who actually posts a pick once every blue moon. Most of the time your posts are garbage (with the exception of your Oakland MNF pick obviously) so how is this any better than you claim what I do??? At least I post my picks on a regular basis with some insight. . . most of the time you hide your picks from everyone including your wife as you indicated to me over an email.

Do I really need to call you in order to end all of this crap or are you gonna finally decide to leave things the way they are and move on? You have tried to come off (at least in your emails) as the mature adult while I am the "immature kid" yet it is you that can't leave things alone. . . go figure.

Bear, I don't intend to waste any additional time with you. It's obvious that you wanted to re-visit this topic by your imediate response to Skeeters comments. You also ASSumed that Hoops was referring to you.

If by posting an overall winning record is garbage, then I'm making good money with it. Your messages are always so meaningful to us all.

As for your desire to call my voicemail, go for it. You seem to enjoy listening to yourself. I think I have a playback feature on my mailbox. Better yet, take my advice and try to get a life. Doc seems to have a good sense of humor, maybe he will be your friend?

Good luck to you Bear.

SKEETER, you got mail.

You're telling me to get a life??? You are up in the middle of the night posting messages on here as well. . . shouldn't you be taking your own advice???

Anyways, glad to see you are FINALLY gonna do what I have been TRYING to get you to do all along. . .

As for my messages being meaningful. . . I have heard it PLENTY of times. . . even from those who do not agree with my reasoning. . . funny how you try to speak for others instead of just yourself. . . its obvious that your opinion isn't enough and you have recognized this so you attempt to include others within your posts.

Very humerous indeed. . . glad to see you are going to act like the "mature adult" that you take yourself for and stop "wasting your time". . . after all, you are not gonna lose weight and stop smoking by responding to my posts.
