Been looking at this game & heres what I see:

- Memphis gives up 4.9 yds per carry avgs 4.3 ypc (-0.6 net)
- Louisville rushes for 3.4 ypc, allows 2.6 (+0.8)
-Memphis schedule strength #94, U o L #31 (Sagarin)
- Memphis give up 28 ppg to D-1 schools, scores 21.25 (-6.75 net)
- U of L scores 32.2, gives up 19.9 (+ 12.3)

IMO line on this game should be Memphis +17 to 18

U of L has way too much talent; there will be may thousands of U of L fans. I think believe U of L will dominate both sides of the line of scrimmage. this will be like scrimmage after facing FSU, plus they have 12 days to heal

Unless, the Cards are still hungover from FSU game or looking ahead to TCU they win this game by at least 17 -24 points.

38- 17.

haven't seen a total, but this one should get to the mid fifties, unless U of L gets conservative in the second half, if they are way ahead.

Please comment! good luck to all!

A thing to be concerned....Memphis simply covers at home...they are almost perfect against the number dating back to 1999 at home...the only loss was to Mississipi 17-3 in 2000. Historically, they play Louisville tough at home...average spread of games is around 3 points. Memphis has a good QB and have an experienced team overall....I believe Louisville will be flat after getting their knobs sucked by coeds for the past week and half.

Memphis is a live dog here.

Wilson,

LMAO - knobs sucked, maybe the u of L players will kick ass, so they can continue to get knobs sucked until TCU.

I respect trends, and my biggest weakness is anticipating the highs and lows of college football teams.

But handcapping by what happened last year & playing against strong numbers is not a good idea!

I will say that if you don't think, the Cards are the play there is no way you can justify a memphis play. Live dogs generally have a decent Defense, the Memphis D is a sieve.

Memphis avg attendance last year was 25K. Don' t see the fans pumping up their team.

Thanks for the input, didn't realize memphis was so tough at home.

Memphis comes into this game fired up:

- only national TV game on their schedule
- FedEX bought 20K seats for sell-out
- embarassed after 31-17 loss to UAB

While Louisville coach Smith has complained all week about the lack of intensity the Cards have shown in practice. (swollen and sore knobs?)

I see this as a cake walk. Memphis has a dozen players on the injured list, and most of them are on defense. Louisville's weakest part of their game is rushing the football. I see them running the ball for over 175 yds, and passing for their average of 250 yds. Louisville will have over 400 yds in total, while Memphis won't have 300 yds in offense. I see the game about
34-17 Louisville.

are you looking at the same Memphis I am ? think you must be looking at Memphis Egypt........my records show Memphis Tenn as 8/9/1 ats @home since Aug of 99........5/4 ats as home dog but playing fairly close games with avg score 13.6/17.6 AMOV of minus 4.......against Louisville I show them as 3/12 SU and 8/7 ats.......home games against Louie are 3/4 su and 3/4 ats with a respectalbe avg score of 25/25.4 amov minus 0.4........but when made a home dog against Louisville they really stink @ 0/2 su 1/1 ats with avg score of 20.5/36 amov minus 15.5

Statman;

Just wanted to be sure of something

Does the 8/9/1 mean 8 wins , 9 losses & 1 tie against the spread?

What does amov mean (guessing avg mean of variance?)

- for 2001 I have memphis 2-1-1 ATS; 1 - 1 ATS as a home dog

Superbook;

I'm not sure that 20,000 Fed-Ex tickets have much effect, don't know maybe someone from area can help us out.

I watched some of the UAB- Memphis game on ESPN gameplan last week, the QB for UAB was a freshman and he was very efficeint and scrambled for several first downs. UAB ran for an avg of 4.75 yard per carry.

Can someon verify injuries or players returning to lineup?

what about weather info?

Any help or comments appreciated

GL to all

Tough loss - didn't watch any of the game, except the last 8 minutes or so when Loiusville went up 38-20.

Caught a break when Memphis elected to go for two even after penalty (Why in the Hell Tommy West did that is still a mystery to me).

Then to not recover an onside kick!!? Hell of a game from a fans point of few, what I saw of it.

I was worried about one thing that Box mentioned in his post, U of L is the most undisciplined, worst coached team I've ever seen. Was it me or did it just seem like there was a penalty every friggin' play. Damn, that Mickens cornerback for the Cards had the worst quarter I've ever seen!

Oh well, at least I had a 1 unit play on the over. Lost 1.2 units total for the night.

thanks for everyones great input, we'll get the man this weekend!

Good luck to all!

Go Gators!

Just clarify something that was my fault....What I was trying to convey (very poorly) is that Memphis had not been beaten by this particular spread (11)....not that they were perfect against ATS at home....was just pointing out they simply play close to competition at home when they are the underdog...I was rushed when I typed...sorry for the confusion :D
