Welcome to our tournament page for the 2007 US Bank Championship in Milwaukee! Formerly known as the Greater Milwaukee Open this golf tournament has had many sponsors since the first tournament held in 1951. Since 1968 it has been known as some version of the Greater Milwaukee Open and is now sponsored by US Bank beginning in 2004. The tournament was played at Tuckaway CC for a long time until moving to the north side of town and to it's current venue at the Brown Deer Park G.C.

There have been some regional and notable former champions of the Greater Milwaukee Open including Middlecoff, Littler, Deane Beman, and Venturi to name a notable few from the past. Calvin Peete, Greg Norman, Loren Roberts and Carlos Franco (twice including last year) have won here more recently.

Kenny Perry -125 over Tim Clark

From what I could tell Clark has never played here.
Kennys last few times playing here go a little something like
15th 9th 7th Win 4th 5th 3rd..

Not bad :scared Both players have been playing well, but I think course history has to help out Kenny.
Plus Perrys last 4 events on tour 3,15,10,11

Good Luck to us..:SIB

Looks like we're backing the same players again :00hour

Outright plays (total stake per play: 1pt)

Kenny Perry to win 12/1 e.w. @ William Hill, BetFred, BetDirect, ToteSport
The favourite, but not by the margin that he deserves. His game has turned around dramatically since losing a lot of weight and receiving a tip from Tommy Armour (it was merely to keep his head still!) at the Memorial Tournament last month. Since then, he has finished in the top-15 in all four starts on this Tour and is averaging 68.56 shots per round. And not only is he back on top of his game, but he returns to a course on which he has finished 3rd, 5th, 4th, 1st, 7th, 9th and 15th this decade. No wonder he says: "I just like it here. I'll always come back because I just enjoy the golf course." Single-digit favourites are very rarely warranted other than Tiger, but Perry deserves to be one this week.

Nathan Green to win 28/1 e.w. @ Victor Chandler, Sportingbet, Sporting Odds and ToteSport
Another player who has rediscovered his form recently with top-5 finishes at Colonial and the John Deere Classic last week. Admittedly, he failed to hold on to the lead that he had held since Friday, but he has still to win on this Tour and that experience, plus his victory on the European Tour last year, will ultimately help him once he does gain another 54-hole lead. And that may be this week - he shot each round under 70 to finish in the top-10 on his course debut last year and so may repeat that performance as he repeated his top-5 finish of 2006 at Colonial in May. There is a similarity in these courses and that can also be seen by Perry's hugely impressive record in both events. Hopefully, Green will be the same.

D.J. Trahan to win 66/1 e.w. @ Paddy Power, Boyle Sports and ToteSport
Maybe the Colonial/Brown Deer Park angle will apply here as well. Trahan has played at Colonial only once (2005), but on that occasion, although he faltered over the weekend, he ended both the first and second rounds in 2nd place. And as far as Brown Deer Park is concerned, he finished 4th last year. It's enough of an angle (plus standard course form) to suggest that as he was backed at 100/1 in a much stronger field last week and played strongly for 52 holes before running up a seven, he should be backed at this price in a second-tier PGA Tour event.

GOLF: Finau roars back from frightful round
By Dan Manoyan
Special to The Tribune
Article Last Updated: 07/20/2007 11:29:13 PM MDT

Posted: 10:46 PM- MILWAUKEE - The buzz among the wizened pros of the PGA Tour regarding Tony Finau this week has been that while he has incredible physical tools, he still has some work to do regarding his course management skills.
If Finau's 5-under 65 at the U.S. Bank Championship at Brown Deer Park - the shortest track on the PGA Tour at 6,759 yards - is any indicator, the 17-year-old from Salt Lake City may be closer to the finished product than some think.
After spraying his ball all over the course and shooting a 5-over par 75 on Thursday, Finau harnessed his amazing power and kept the ball in play, for the most part, on Friday.
The result is that Finau, playing in his first PGA Tour event, got back to even-par 140 and made the 36-hole cut to the weekend by one shot. And, he did it his way.
Finau stuck to his guns Friday, after hitting driver 11 times Thursday and hitting just two of 13 fairways. Friday, he hit driver nine times and landed on the fairway a very respectable 7 of 13 times.
And, he didn't have to sacrifice distance in the cause of accuracy. While averaging 313.5 yards off the tee on Thursday, he averaged 312.6 yards on Friday.
"That's my gameplan; I don't worry what anybody else does," he said. "When I get the driver going, I can hit it straight.
"It might seem like

I am really trying to hit it, but that's just how my swing is."
Finau came roaring out the gate on Friday, starting on the back nine and birdieing five of his first seven holes to get to even par for the tournament. After bogeying 17, he had a relatively, by his standards, uneventful front nine, with just one birdie at No. 5.
Finau's round included two huge highlights. Somehow he managed to birdie the 15th hole after pushing his second shot into the adjacent 13th fairway.
His crowning moment, however, was when he reached the green on the 371-yard 16th hole with a drive measured at 369 yards.
"I knocked it to about three feet from 70 yards out," Finau explained. "I still had good vibes going from 15."
Finau may have been a bit bruised from his Thursday's round, but it was clear his confidence wasn't shaken.
"Last night was a tough night," Finau admitted. "I didn't put together a good round [on Thursday], so I guess I had some doubts about the second day, showing you guys I can play, that I can make the cut and play even better.
"But I know I can play. Experience is a big key out here, that's what everybody is telling me."
Finau's spirits were buoyed quite a bit when he had an unexpected Thursday night meeting in the Brown Deer Park players' parking lot with Billy Andrade, who has been a regular on the PGA Tour since 1988, two years before Finau was born.
"I asked [Finau] how he played, and when he told me he didn't play very well, I told him to just forget about it," Andrade said. "I said, 'There is nothing you can do about it now . . . just get ready for the next day.
" 'Go get them tomorrow.' "
According to Gary Finau, Tony's father, Andrade's words meant the world to his son.
"Tony was, like, speechless," Gary said. "He's been watching Billy Andrade on television since he was a kid. He didn't expect that."
Andrade and his 13-year-old son Cam wanted to be at the first tee when Finau hit the first drive of his PGA Tour career on Thursday. He launched his best drive of the round, a 362-yarder in the fairway.
"You see guys who can hit as far as him, but they don't have any touch . . . that's why they aren't playing out here," Andrade said. "It's amazing, he's so young and so good. I'm glad I was here to see him begin his career."
