A total bloodbath on Saturday for me at the Open. Congrats to everyone who profitted, especially DTB who continues to make quite a run this year with those props. Well done.

Outright
Richard S. Johnson 66-1 e.w. @ Sportingbet
--Johnson caught my eye a few months ago and I continue to be impressed by his run on both the PGA and Nationwide Tours this year. He's teed it up 15 times combined on both tours, recorded 8 Top 25s, including 3 Top 10s on the PGA. He, like a number of the other good young players will eventually win. His record in Milwaukee is decent, so I'll take a shot with him against this field.

Outright plays (total stake per play: 1.5pts)

Tim Herron to win 33/1 e.w. @ UKBetting, Totalbet, Boyle Sports and BetFred
Was going to avoid all players returning from four rounds at St. Andrews, but will make an exception with Herron as this should be such an open event. In short, he has finished in the top-3 in two of his last three visits to this course and returns this year in even better form than when so successful here in the past. Take his last three events: his 41st place finish last week was the only time that he has made the cut in the Open Championship since 1999, he entered the final round in 3rd place in the Western Open before a final round 75 saw him finish 10th and he finished 33rd in the U.S. Open. A repeat of any of this form should see him contend once again around Brown Deer Park.

Brett Quigley to win 33/1 e.w. available generally
Quigley came extremely close, but failed to qualify for St. Andrews; it should work to his advantage this week. His form is good with finishes of 21st, 17th, 5th and 26th in his last four starts - and that compares well against this weak field - but it is his course form that largely determines this play. In the last two years here, he has finished 4th and 2nd. Last year, he even entered the final round in a tie for the lead with Patrick Sheehan and eventual winner, Carlos Franco, so to play solidly - only one bogey - when he had never lead a PGA Tour event with one round to play, was an impressive effort. One year on, he should be able to seal the win if he is presented with the opportunity once again on this course.

Fred Funk to win 40/1 e.w. @ GolfingGods
Funk missed the cut, as expected, last week and so the early flight home should not have left him too tired for this event. And this is an event that he relishes. Brown Deer Park is one of the shortest courses on the PGA Tour at just over 6,700 yards and the rough is supposed to be even more penal this year. He has three top-10 finishes in his last five visits, including 2nd place last year, and having already won the Players Championship in March and finished 3rd in the St Jude Classic eight weeks ago, he should be competitive once again, on this course at least.

Will wait till after 1st day for selection--want to view how bad of shape these greens are in and just how severe rough is.Hard to get
feel for mind set of those returning from Europe.
Have some longshots on short list (Hayes Goydos and R Johnson) but will pass for now.

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
Cheers, Dogs! It was good after very little in the Masters and U.S. Open . . . I was REALLY pulling for Couples over every damn stroke, but after that, I was pulling hard for Kenny Perry to cash a ticket as well.

OUTRIGHTS:

Fred Funk(33/1) e.w. @ 5dimes

- - In the midst of the capstone season of his career, missing the cut at St. Andrews feels like an ideal run-up to a well-suited spot.

J.P. Hayes(60/1) e.w. @ GolfingGods
- - In pursuit of the Badger State major, there are no questions here that will have me quibble over line value.

Brett Quigley(33/1) e.w. @ 5dimes
- - I slipped the winning marker @ 200/1 e.w. from the Western Open off the table last week, and a few new angles get added to the equation this week. Duh.

Still not satisfied with this card . . .

MATCHUPS:

Funk(-105) over Campbell (Tournament) @ 5dimes

Bo Van Pelt 40-1 e.w. at Golfing Gods
The question with Bo is not "if" but "when" he gets the first win.

I've also learned my lesson this week and will wait for everyone to open their markets for outrights. Prices on Johnson to win are much higher than my 66-1. I have no access to betfair, unfortunately, but there and at some books you can get 90-1 which is way too high.

Took a lot of effort to get down to a manageable amount of players this week. Started with list of Quigley, Herron, Frazar, Smith, Slocum, Elk, Gamez, Imada, Kendall, Fisher, Claxton, Driscoll, Lancaster, Points, Tanihara, Stricker, Hayes, Mahan, Trahan, Atwal, Lewis, Moore, Sheehan, Thatcher, Forsman, and Waite. Eliminated Quigley. Herron, Elk,Slocum, Fisher, Lancaster, Hayes, Atwal, Lewis, and Moore, because I did not see value in there price. Imada was nice enough to pull out. That still left me with 14 players. Had to cut some so off went Claxton, Tanihara, Sheehan, and Trahan. Down to ten. Put small plays on betfair in on Kendall, Forsman, Thatcher, Driscoll, and Gamez. A little larger on Smith and Stricker. So three selections e.w.

Harrison Frazar 125-1 1 unit e.w Golfing Gods

D.A. Points 250-1 1/2 unit e.w SportingBet

Grant Waite 250-1 1/2 unit e.w SportingBEt

Tournament Matchup

Olin Browne -118 over Jeff Brehaut @ 5dimes
--Brehaut has some nice finishes recently, but for whatever reason he doesn't play well in Milwaukee, while Browne does. Browne's first half hasn't been great save for his 54 holes of fame at Pinehurst, but he does have a respectable record here and plays much better in the second half of the year.

Perry/Sluman -105 over 24 1/2

Note played quite a few 1st rds as I think am/pm matches will have a little extra adv this week as greens here were bout lost and over seeded with poana which should prove tougher late in day--also add to that several of these with those that traveled vs those that didn't--to my thinking combo should be worth bout 3/4 stroke unless early morning fog is tough--could expect short delay.

They did line some after all last night and odds not changed much since this moring. Will put up several today as they all come under same angle--tired legs. Was surprised to see players with 30+ hole to complete today listed and some already weary from jet lag and no spring chickens.
