My first reaction to this line was to load up on UAB. St. Louis does have senior guard Reggie Bryant returning tonite after being away from the team for 10 days. (His brother was shot in Baltimore). Bryant averages 13 ppg this year.
More on Bryant's return from Post-Dispatch writer Stu Durando:
Bryant said his body feels rested from the long layoff, but Soderberg expects that he has lost some conditioning after being out of action for two weeks.
"I really don't know how my legs or timing will be," Bryant said. "Hopefully I won't be too far off."
Bryant hopes to help SLU salvage its season in the final four games. He will come off the bench but will be a welcome addition as the Billikens face UAB's pressing style, which forced 25 SLU turnovers last season.
"I'm just going to rely on his experience but not on his wind," Soderberg said. "When we get him in, it will be in short bursts. I'm not starting him, but I'll get him in early and see how he feels. We'll need all the guards we can get."
