Starting the week with an England League 2 play...
M K Dons +147 vs Newport Co 3x
Lookahead spot for Newport to big FA Cup match with Man City on deck. For City, the fixture vs Newport on Saturday may be a lookahead/rest spot for them going into their first UCL match against Schalke next week, especially after coming off the dominant Chelsea victory and knowing they have to face them next in a League Cup matchup two weeks later. I'm sure they're feeling pretty good about themselves. For now, I will support the Dons who are favored on the road for a good reason and are within 2 points of league promotion while facing a middling Newport County without ambition in League 2 and looking ahead to possibly the biggest game in club history. Last season, they were in a similar situation going into a big matchup with Tottenham in a 4th round FA Cup fixture and drew 1-1 with League 2 bottom-dweller Morecambe prior to drawing with Tottenham in Newport. The Tottenham draw forced an important rematch at Wembley for Newport, which shifted their focus, once again, to the big FA cup match. Ahead of that game, they lost both matches by 2 goals each to middling League 2 sides, Lincoln City and Colchester United. The main thing to consider here is that the Dons are favored on the road, and justifiably so, as they look to move closer to promotion after relegation from League One last season.
