18th-ranked Connecticut will again be without coach Jim Calhoun this afternoon as they travel to take on Big East rivals the Providence Friars.

Calhoun led the Huskies to the NCAA title in 1999 but will not resume coaching for another three to four weeks following prostate surgery Thursday.

13-5 Connecticut were led by interim coach George Blaney Wednesday and suffered a bad 95-74 loss at Virginia Tech. Their poor performance was highlighted by shooting just 34% from the field and committing 19 turnovers. Following a hot 9-0 start the Huskies have now lost five of their last nine, including four of five on the road. They have covered the number on just three of their last nine overall and are 1-4 ATS recently on the road.

Providence lost at 4th-ranked Pittsburgh Tuesday and although their overall record is 10-9, they have been very solid at home going 9-2 SU and 5-4 ATS with two of those non-covers being by the hook. Their only SU loss in their last seven at the Dunkin Donuts Center was a 71-65 defeat by Notre Dame.

Today we'll take the strong and focused home team to get the win against a mediocre road team trying to deal with some obvious distractions.

Recommended Play: Providence -1.5

Good luck
