Lotta guys on Uconn and I cannot blame ya!
They are LOADED and we'll see how good vs Maryland....should they both win.....BUT...
For the last year Calhoun seems to have trouble getting a full 40 minutes from his troops.......Most of the time 20 minutes is enough.. but watch out when laying dd with this team........That said...I've seen both of their games and in the last 22 minutes vs N. Hampshire 10 men put up 78 points. AWESOME!!!!...Problem was that in the first 18 min. NH led 33-32...CT won by 50+. Perimeter D can be very good or LAX!
In the Vandy game they blew the doors open early and led by 24 at the half. Then vandy started raining 3s and CT lost half 2 by 10. Still covered however.
What I like is that they all want the ball and are not tentative....Ben Gordon will be a star....I'm not even gonna get started on the talent...........TODAY...Calhoun wont surprise anyone...GW head coach was Calhouns assistant for the last 8 years and his asst is also a CT man. Calhoun Knows what to expect as does Karl Hobbs..back door??? Problem is GW likes to push this year in the CT tradition ..If they try that today they will be destroyed....Zone CT out of its game and who knows....We saw the same Jekyll and Hyde last year......but CT is MUCH improved. PREDICTION...local has -11 and CT should cover easily....BUT I wanna see them play 2 consistant halves before I pour it on. 1 unit
