Chris Weidman
William Bush

odds = $2.57 (+157) *2 Joe Rogans

Kevin Casey sucks, that sums up the Bush/Casey fight. As for Weidman I think he is going to toy with Lyoto Machida, it won't be close.

I can't decide how big I'll be going on Machida but it will be a pretty good size play. I love the odds I'm getting back on this one. It may be close and boring but I believe Machida will keep the fight standing and I just can't see Chris winning it if that happens. I'll give more info later but I'm thinking around a 5unit play right now.

How's he going to win Kick? Do you think he'll take Machida down for some GnP or will he win standing? I don't think he can win if it stays standing and IMO Machida has the perfect standup to avoid TDs.

I think he'll take him down more then once....I see him finishing Machida in 5th round. Machida might win one round, but that is it.

I really don't think it will be close. Dominating win for Weidman.

But hey I have been wrong before:mj07:

Machida has the best TD defense(numbers wise) in LHW history. I'm guessing he' do just as well if not better against smaller guys. To me this is a horrible matchup for Weidman.

I do agree it is a bad match-up, but it won't matter, Weidman will be fine on the feet. He will get some takedowns and eventually stop Machida. If it does go to a decision it will be a dominate win.

Overall 59-43 +56.74 units

Opinions 18-19 +2.75(always .5 unit)

Machida +160 5 units

I had time to go back and track my record. I hadn't done it since the last time I sent against Weidman. :0corn

I've never been a really big Machida fan but he's fought a ton of the greats and done well. I thought in the Davis fight he lacked a killer instinct that he needs but you can't make someone something they're not. I can't get the first fight with Anderson(vs. Weidman) out of my mind. I still think Anderson toyed with him and it finally cost him in that fight.(I was on Weidman in that one) It's hard to say what would have happened in the 2nd fight. Outside of Anderson who had Weidman really fought that has had a good standup game? Add to it that Machida has great TD defense and you have a good combination to beat a guy that in all reality hasn't had that many big fights. I would feel a ton better if this fight was a 3 rounder but no worries.

I agree....I think this could turn out to be a tough match-up for Weidman if the takedowns don`t materialize....

I personally thing Weidman may be a tad overrated....this fight should tell us whether that`s true(to a certain extent) or not...

still waiting on my line to post....worried that the books will be too sharp...

already have roussey itd in some pars...also looking at faber itd(bruce lee`s been subbed 4 times and is a bit vulnerable to the rear naked choke, one of faber`s faves),,,

the one I was waiting on is Justin gaethje in wsof Saturday afternoon on nbc...he`s fighting this undefeated kid with one arm/hand,nick newell....newell has done well vs lesser competition and has become pretty well known for being a successful fighter with a major handicap....he mostly wins by sub(and he`s very dangerous with his chokes...that arm might actually be an advantage with those chokes...but gaethje was a decorated div 1 wrestler and his striking and kicking are ferocious(he might be the most aggressive fighter I`ve seen in in years)...I guess he could get careless and end up in a sub...and this article has me wondering where his head`s at...http://mmajunkie.com/2014/07/video-why-justin-gaethje-wouldnt-mind-losing-to-nick-newell-at-wsof-11

so I`m not going crazy on it...I`ll use him in a par(even though he`s -420)...he could get caught in a choke...but he already has stoppage wins over dan lauzon/brian cobb/cavalcante and drew fickett...

the guy is an offensive beast and should be in the ufc shortly(barring a f-ck-up tomorrow).....would be a famned shame if he lets himself get subbed here...he`s a real prospect and the type of fighter that dana loves...

if you aren`t busy tomorrow afternoon, this card starts at 4 pm eastern on nbc...it also has fitch vs hallman and Melvin guillard vs gesias cavalcante....good stuff..

wanted to mention this because it`s a solid card and gaethje/newell should be a great fight.....

.now kick can ban me....:mj08:

Fight Card
------------------------------------------------------------------

Chris Weidman vs. Lyoto Machida
Ronda Rousey vs. Alexis Davis:canada1
Matt Mitrione vs. Stefan Struve
Uriah Hall vs. Thiago "Marreta" Santos
Marcus Brimage vs. Russell Doane
Alex Caceres vs. Urijah Faber
Ildemar Alcantara vs. Kenny Robertson
Chris Camozzi vs. Bruno Santos
Rob Font vs. George Roop
Guilherme Vasconcelos vs. Luke Zachrich
Kevin Casey vs. William "Bubba" Bush

Ummm I think it goes without saying that the Canuck Davis is in tough against Ms. Rouseykurby

Don't have much thought on the main event. Weidman is talented as heck, but Lyoto definitely has faced a tougher set of opponents. Anderson took Weidman lightly first fight, and fluke second fight. Definitely NOT discrediting him, because he's very good fighter, just not sure how he does against someone like Lyoto. I know Machida's style doesn't seem to match well up against Weidman (nor anyone, for that matter), and I think if Machida is somehow able to get into Chris's head, he'll prob get countered to death. That being said, hope it's a nice violent finish or great war.

Co-main event... clear that Rousey wants to up her striking and has been working on that more. However, Davis has a heck of a chin and is a plodder. I think Rousey will get frustrated that Davis isn't going down due to strikes, and will try to take her down. Sub R2.

Other fight that gets me is the Bruce Leeroy vs Faber fight.. So weird to have a non-title fight with odds like that, and I guess I'm a sucker? I know the UFC seems to like Alex Caceres, because he has some flashes of complete dominance and is sometimes technically great, but then you have some WTF moments... Yes, I know Faber is practically unbeatable in non-title fights, but how does the Duane Ludwig-leaving issue leave Team Alpha Male? Is that even a legit argument now? I just need to take a chance on Caceres at those odds because I know if I don't, he'll catch. Props to the other poster about Alex's issue to get into rear-naked...

Lastly, will always bet against Uriah Headcase Hall. Guy, get a killer instinct!!! Santos is flashy and is going to be able to catch Hall. Not a bulldog like John Howard, but able to be aggressive enough like Weidman was over Hall.

Kenny Robertson +105 over Ildemar Alcantara
Alex Caceres +650 over Urijah Faber
Thiago Santos +350 over Uriah Hall

Stefan Struve over Matt Mitrione
Chris Weidman over Lyoto Machida +152

Could definitely go 0-4. ha.
