Not the greatest card I've seen.

Kid Yamamoto -175
Roman Salazar +155

Going with Salazar here. Kid is a legend and most newish MMA fans probably don't know that this 135 pound fighter was once one of the most feared guys at 155. He is in my top 10 of all time favorite fighters. But he has so many things going against him now.

Wrestling has deteriorated. Once a powerhouse his attempt to make the 08 Olympics ended in a broken arm.
Speed. That speed is long gone
Striking seems to have deteriorated as well though he still has that power
Injury. Long list of injuries has slowed him down
Age. Will be 38 next month
Just over 3 years since his last fight
Aura. Fighters used to fear him not any more. Now he just a nice name to have a win over

Kind of hope I'm wrong.


Other pick is O2.5 rounds -165 on Tibau and Ferguson. Both tough to stop.

more than a few dogs seem to merit consideration again tonight....koschek and Ellenberger`s recent losses mostly to tip-top guys so reports of their demise might be premature....kos might surprise us...

much as I`d love to see her pull it off, it,zingano`s inside style is really a bad style match against rousey...

after seeing her take a beating for the first two rounds vs tate,I`ll be shocked if zingano lasts very long tonight...

I thought Kos was doing Ok against Woodley before he got caught. Both guys in 3 fight skids. Both stopped by lawler - no shame there. Ellenberger gets to much crap for the MacDonald loss especially by Dana. I like both guys but both have big areas that cause concern. Kos is not great at striking and relies on that overhand right. Ellenberger has one game plan going in and seems to struggle to change it.

I think Kos can take him down and win a decision. I'm just not sure he wants to. Wont be betting on this one but gun to the head I say Kos. Sure he is 37 but looks in great shape.

Masio Fullen def. Alex Torres via Split Decision 29-28, 29-28, 28-29

Good scrap to start off the card, Fullen was rocked 3 times in 1st round and survived, he came back and won the fight. Both guys brought it in their UFC debut and that is all you can ask for.
