I don`t think the chick fight is going the full 5...I know conventional wisdom is that van zant is mostly a distance fighter but her relentless pace and increasingly nasty g&p make her more likely to grind out an opponent in a 5 round fight...and namajunas has a bit of an interesting sub game so time on the ground in this fight might be surprisingly nasty and geared more toward stuff happening than lay and pray.....both girls are very aggressive....van zant can`t change her style because she doesn`t have much of a stand-up game(as her fight vs tecia torres demonstrated)....she`s coming to strike for the sole purpose of clinching her opponent up and grinding her down...

namajunas is just a buzzsaw....she comes forward and tries to finish...

I played it a little at -105...I see it`s moved to around -155....so in that range,it might be more like parlay fodder...

having trouble seeing how pfister goes a full 3 with northcutt..I know he`s a wrestler but northcutt`s been fighting since he was 5....it`s his entire life.....and the ufc doesn`t want northcutt to lose......I doubt they matched him with pfister to lose....the athleticism gap is enormous...

maybe itd prop as parlay fodder?.....need to look a little deeper......

btw...go a little past the 2 minute mark.....how much is northcutt deadlifting there?....good grief...is that some sort of camera trick?

No clue who is going to win, but this should be one epic blood battle, two cuties should be all bloodied up after this one. Rose is tough as fuck and doesn't give a shit. Paige loves to move forward and bully the chicks she fights, I don't see either chick giving up, this one should be bloody as fuck!

tecia torres beat both van zant and rose(van zant much easier than thug rose)..namajunas almost subbed torres in rd 1.......namajunas gave torres hell...notice the only time that namajunas went backward was when torres knocked her backward....van zant normally comes forward but vs torres she ate so much leather in stand-up,she got cold feet....she took quite a bit of punishment from torres....I`m wondering if the stand-up doesn`t work for van zant(and I don`t think her stand-up is very good) can she control namajunas on the mat?...can she even get her there?...and if she does,she has to be very careful...namajunas looks more dangerous on her back than on top...

I`ve been reading on other forums that van zant has "solid stand-up"....I haven`t seen it unless they`re talking about a grinding clinch game...little torres made her look silly.....boxed her ears off....and I`m wondering if maybe the ufc isn`t putting the cart before the golden goose here....if van zant gets careless on the ground with the thug,she may just get choked out or arm barred......

this may well be too much too soon for p.v.z.......unless ehe`s as strong vs namajunas as she looked vs lesser competition...her path to victory is narrow(get namajunas on her back and grind her out or wear her down and submit her like esparza did... ....other than that,looks like a tough match -up for paige).....

is van zant really that good at 21 years old?.....we know she`s that persistent and has the cardio to make life miserable for an opponent in a long fight....I`m wondering about her physical strength.....can she wear down and overpower namajunas(she looked a little thicker than rose at the weigh-in) like she did leasser girls?....

we`ll find out tomorrow night...I have just a little riding on rose and a little on "doesn`t go the distance"(because both are crazy aggressive and it`s 5 rounds)....

imo,van zant is still an unknown...that`s why I`m treading lightly here...

Torres doesn't suck (I am betting against her on Dec 12th) but I am not that impressed with her, plus that fight with PVZ was in 2013 and PVZ was 8 years old at the time.

yeah,that`s why it`s still very iffy for me....fights vs weak opposition (herrig/chambers and to a lesser extent curran)don`t show us enough to prove that van zant is as good as the ufc would like us to believe.....namajunas is a much more complete fighter....a much higher level fighter that the 3 van zant has faced since her loss to torres....

is paige a ufc marketing phenom?..or is she for real?....we should get a solid indication tonight...
