Mark Bocek vs. Frank Edgar
Round 1
Edgar lands his right hand at will early in the contest, connecting with three hard shots. Bocek is stunned by another right hand and momentarily takes a knee, but Edgar can't capitalize. Bocek gets back to his feet and shoots in without success. Bocek switches levels and attempts a tackle, but Edgar stuffs it and takes top position. Bocek turtles up to avoid punishment, and appeared to be rolling to escape when referee Jon Schorle stepped in to halt the bout at 4:55 of the opening period. Frank Edgar wins by TKO (strikes)

Chris Lytle (169.5) vs. Jason Gilliam (171)

R1 - Lytle lands with his opening combo, and Gilliam goes down from a missed kick. Lytle flys into his guard with punches, then falls back for a leg lock Gilliam escapes. Lytle back into Gilliam’s guard, then moves easily to side control. Lytle latches on a reverse triangle choke from North-South and the crowd goes nuts. Lytle also has an armlock working in the front. Gilliam is overwhelmed and taps out. Two subs at once for an aggressive Lytle.

Chris Lytle def. Jason Gilliam - Tapout (Triangle Choke) 2:15 R1

Gurgel’s face definitely looks worse for wear. The two fighters meet in the center and hug awaiting the decision. The judges quickly come back with a 30-27 unanimous decision for the winner, Jorge Gurgel. The crowd delivers a chorus of boos, perhaps protesting that Gurgel was given all three rounds.
