For you guys who were doggin' the UK football Wildcats yesterday, I can tell you it was a very disappointing loss for the UK faithful like myself. BUT, putting feelings aside, UK has had a Jekyll/Hyde personality this year. When Morris tried his new, more athletic QB things really went south on offense. When Lorenzen made it back into the lineup UK became competitive again. Look it up. UK failed to cover their first five I believe (perhaps 6) but then they covered their last 4 or 5 with Lorenzen running the show. Their offense scored on LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, not bad company if you ask me. If we had ONE more good cornerback, Tennessee would be wearing a loss today.

In any event, those kids play their hearts out every week, as all players do, and to say they suck and other derogatory terms really gets my goat. In all probability the water boy could beat the hell out of anyone here at MJ's. So, how 'bout some respect for the actual combatants?

Sorry to drag this out again MJ, I just couldn't help myself.

I'm with ya' Skinar.

I don't follow Kentucky football, but Lorenzen caught me eye last year and I've been paying attention to him ever since.

There's no denying it...

That boy can toss the rock.

Amen Skinar!!!! I was one of fellas who said UK was gonna have a pretty bad year. I never dreamed Morris would start Boyd at QB vs. Lorenzon. I think Morris would be the 1st one to admit that that was a BIG time mistake. Cats actually did better than I had anticipated. The only TRULY pathetic performance was the S. Carolina game, where they performed pitifully. Besides this one game, UK in my opinion over achieved noting the numerous injuries they had on both sides of the ball.

If they could have pulled yesterday's game out, Most fans would've probably forgot about those 8 losses! It would have been wonderful to end the season on a note such as that. Perhaps they'll put up a similiar performance against IU this week. I'm also not one to bitch about calls, but that one they called against the Cats towards the end of the game was totally ridiculous!

I actually feel better about this year's squad vs. last years. I still think Lorenzon is one of the top QBs in the nation, and should have a spectacular Junior season next year. One thing about this year's team, they NEVER quit chips were down. I give them much credit in that department. If all the games consisted of only two quarters of play, then we would've been 8-2 instead of 2-8....

One good thing that came out of yesterday's game was the fact that the Vols don't have a snowball's chance in hell to put up a W against the Gators, especially in the swamp. If that spread isn't in the teens, then something is VERY VERY wrong. Gators should CRUSH them!!!

I was on Kentucky yesterday and was pissed that they lost. They obviously have some pretty talented players on that team. I also agree and knew about your assesment with Lorenzen running the controls and their offensive success. That is why I was on them so big and was ranting about how the Vols sucked.

However, I seriously doubt that their waterboy could beat me up.

I am a Lorenzen fan, but he sat because of his unfiery character toward the team. He is unbelievably gifted, but his off the field heart is not always there. I think being benched for a while made him realize that this is a team game, and UK has been a much better squad since his return.

Best of luck to the Cats for the remainder. With the sanctions that were imposed, they are going to struggle to get talent in there for a couple of years.

Good points fellas, especially Neemer's comments about the Big Orange down in the swamp. First, we know that Spurrier won't back off even if he's up by 30 against Tennessee (or anyone else for that matter). RAYMOND, perhaps I exaggerated, I was using hyperbole to make a point.

I just hope that Morris can recruit some talent on defense. Imagine if UK had a truly great defense against Tennessee, it would have been a rout. Unfortunately we have to deal with the sanctions left over from Mumme's staff, especially Bassett.

On the other hand, how 'bout them Hilltoppers Neemer? I'm going to catch them in Diddle a couple of times this year, both my daughters attend WKU. I haven't been in that arena for a game since 1972 (damn I feel old).

Taking the kids to 4-5 games this year as well. Diddle hasn't changed very much, but that's all about to change. They have already started construction on suits that wrap around the top of the stadium. Seats 10-12 people with bathroom, bar, sink, and your very own television. Hard to believe, huh????

It's amazing how much easier it is to get tickets at Diddle than Rupp! ....

I suppose the new suites will do away with the running track around the top of Diddle. Once upon a time, long ago, I actually ran laps around that place. As far as tickets, I gave up on UK a while back. The last couple of times I went the seats were so lousy that I left, went to a local bar, and watched the game on TV. I'd rather root for the Toppers anyway.
