Is it really possible that these guys are good?

UK beats Louisville on their home turf compliments of a dominating defense. Then in their home opener they lambaste an admittedly weak UTEP team 77-17 while Louisville rebounds and looks like their preseason ranking by beating Duke 40-3 on the road.

Is it really possible?

I wish I knew Hellah.

I suppose I'll know more when they get into the SEC play. I will say this much, reading the local newspapers I get the impression that the defense feels like they're important for the first time in nearly a decade, and they are a LOT more intense than they have been in years. Kentucky has been putting up a lot of points for the past several years but their defense has been in the cellar of Division 1 at the same time. They put up 30 against Florida last year, have put up about the same amount against Tennessee, the same with Georgia, etc. The problem has been that Florida put up 50, Tennessee 50, Georgia 40, and so on.

One of the defensive captains was quoted in this morning's paper as saying that instead of dropping back and trying to hold their opponent to 5 yards or so, now they are trying to knock the receiver OUT!! They are trying to knock the quarterback OUT, and they're trying to knock the running back OUT!!. A major shift in thinking.

i think they are allright...they have a good pass rush. I won some major major major money on KY last year...I rode Lorenzen as soon as they put him in. It was a great ride too :) Real test comes when they get into the SEC schedule....I owuld like to see them go to the SEC championship though
